Fluted Parting Tool, 2mm

Item #
30273
Rating:
100% of 100
With a milled flute along the bottom edge, two sharp spurs at the cutting face and a tip that always cuts at a shear angle of 45°, this parting tool produces a burnished finish that hardly needs sanding at all. The tapered profile reduces the risk of binding in the cut, and when parting off, the narrow profile eases the work and produces less waste. 1-1/16" blade width keeps the blade very stable while cutting. Measures 18-3/4" overall.

Features:
  • 12" Ash handle
  • Long bevel has a milled flute which is the cutting face
  • Small bevel is the sharpening face

Best Parting tool for Parting
I have seen and used a lot of different parting tools, many are do thick they don't do a good job of parting pieces off. This one does, and is also excellent at placing small detail cuts where you want them--the only parting tool I care for anymore, great steel too.

Love this little tool. Small, light,...
Love this little tool. Small, light, and what a fine job it does. I would tell anyone that turns, no matter how many parting tools you might already have, get one of these.

The thin profile and fluted edges should give a smoother parting cut to bowls.
