Fast easy to use
Got it and did half a dozen frames in 15 minutes. Works good on all different woods and sizes. Just a small adjustment for different woods.

Nice Tool
I've assembled 25 or so frames with this tool so far and I'm very pleased with it. In operation it feels well built and performs great. As others have mentioned, it's a little pricey, but when it replaces brads and a tack hammer, you'll quickly forget how much you paid for it.

A+ by Blind Rehabiliation Specialist
Making picture frames is project that we use to teach non visual skills in many VA Blind Rehab Centers. When I learned about this tool several years ago, we purchased one. It has been perfect for our clients. A number of our visually impaired vets have home workshops and continue their woodworking as a hobby; are into frame making; and ordered this tool for themselves. VA does some things right!

One of the best tools!
I don't do a lot of picture framing, but when I do, I remember how hard it was to mount the pictures and crafts using a hammer, nail punch and/or a putty knife to push in the points. This is One of The BEST tools to have around, even if some folks complain about it being plastic.

I recieved a $20.00 gift certificate so I bit the bullet and ordered one. After using it I don't know why I waited so long, yes I do I'm cheap. It works great.

I've been doing custom frames for more than 10 years. Can't begin to tell you the amount of glass I've broken, frames that I've ruined, etc., because I used to use everything from glazing points to electric nail brads really guns. THIS SOLVES ALL THE PROBLEMS! I just built an order of 15 frames and didn't have any trouble because of this product. Easy to use and very effective. A little pricey, but well worth it!

This is constructed of the same glass-filled nylon as is used in my 15-year-old Matfer Mandoline (a food slicer for those of you who confine your cutting to the shop). It is quite sturdy, and works like a champ. Since it's *not* metal, I don't need to worry about it corroding over time. Sets the points very well, and even though a bit pricey, made its cost back on the very first use framing 3 12x18 photos.

It does a nice job of inserting picture points and the points due to their shape can be easily removed with long nose pliers. It can also be used to install Glass brads to hold glass in window frames, a universal tool. It is a little expensive for the technology involved, but the sales numbers are probably too limited to charge less. It is a choice. You can always struggle with other means. It is a matter of how much you use it.

For the price, I expected a metal body tool instead of plastic. However, the tool performs very well and the points used by the tool are an excellent way to mount paintings in wooden frames.

Why did you choose this?
Rockler Store
It wasn't due to the price, and by the way your shipping charges are toooooooooo high.

Read the reviews and it sounds like it will work. Need it ASAP, so just bit the bullet and ordered one. So far, everything I have purchased from Rockler has been well-made. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one!

Work on old hard wood frames?
Tina U on Oct 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The frame master point driver has worked on everything I've used it on so sat, from softwoods, hardwoods and old lumber.
Only problem I would foresee on old barnwood, would be if it's so old and crumbling otherwise you should be fine.
Where is it made of ?
Antti P on Feb 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: If you are asking what it is made of. Hard plastic with some metal parts. If you are asking where it is made I don't recall exactly, but in a foreign country somewhere in Europe.

Can this tool be used on maple and oak? Or is wood too hard for penetration? Thanks
Wood Guy on Apr 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I recently built a solid Ash frame for a mirror in my bathroom and it worked great for this project.
I haven't used it much on hardwoods, but it seemed to work just fine with this Ash.
does this use flexible or rigid points?
Steve T on Sep 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure what you mean by flexible points. The points that this gun uses can be bent to get the picture or glass out. They are about 3/4 in. long and about 1/8 wide. I hope this helps, I do like the gun.
The little white bumper in my point shooter is Brocken. The gun is not shooting will the bumper be the reason?
