Obviously this is an exact replacement for the one on the original tool. I tried other resources for this type of cutter but they ended up being too small. With a coupon, this replacement part became very affordable.

Great Product
This cutter on the Rockler turning tool is great! The combination of the two make bowl cutting much easier. Also, it's nice not to have to worry about sharpening after numerous cuts.

Good carbide
I made a tool holder for this, from a pry bar. Works well. There is some what of a learning curve. Some woods, it throws chips, some, just dust.. Hollows fast!

Woodworking Experience:
Good Cutter...Decent Value
The R2 does its job as a solid choice for the insides of bowls and other coves and concaves as may be encountered. It’s a very stable cutter...Not overly agressive and a good match for the Rockler handle. Cutter life depends on a lot of factors, but i don’t find these dulling out any quicker than other brands that I use. Fairly priced, in my opinion...Buy spares when they have a sale.

Replace ment works just like the original cutter which lasted a lot longer than I expected.
I got an amazing amount of turning with the original cutter. This new cutter acts and cuts the same as the original. I expect to get more than a few years of hard use for the replacement..

Carbide turning tools
I received a set of Rockler carbide full size turning tools for Christmas, and the first time I used one to turn a bowl I thought Wow. I noticed a big difference right away. I found myself cutting a little too aggressive and I had to remind myself to slow down a bit before I caused a major catch. Bottom line I would definitely recommend these turning tools and have gotten a friend to try them and he agreed that they are superior.

What's the mm size for these cutters?
Taz Flyr on Jun 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They are 15 mm. Measured with a digital calipers.
What size screw goes with the R2 round cutter is it a 8/32?
A shopper on May 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The screw is probably an odd size, but, the new cutter came with an extra screw. The manufacturer
probably will not tell the size, for marketing reasons. If you get a turning tool with this cutter, you will
be pleasantly surprised at how nice it works. For some of us, the handle could be a little longer. thanks
