Kayak rack
These brackets worked perfectly for our 16 Kayak rack we build down at Lemon bay in Englewood Florida. Easy to use and they hold weight well. The coating on the brackets should hold back the salt air for quite awhile .

Used a pair of these to mount a 5ft Walnut "Entertainment Shelf" under the master TV. Easily installed with lags to the wall and threaded inserts under the work piece.

Laid on it to test strength. Good to go!
Super clean installation. Hidden out of view unless you duck below the level of the shelf.

HD Shelf Bracket
Excellent product and timely delivery. Shelf brackets at the local and big box stores just would not do the trick. Needed an additional work space/desk in my shop. This will support anything I can put on it.

Black Shelf Bracket
Super strong bracket, easily the most rigid I've seen. I used them to reinforce some Edsal metal legs, turning a solid core door into a work table. A most excellent product, nicely finished.

Strong and Durable
Practical for semi-exposed lumber rack under exterior stairway.
Supports all kinds of boards up to 10' lengths ... my maximum available space. No signs of rust or metal fatique after several months of exposure to heavy sun and rain. Will buy more for another installation!

We are a call center that needed VERY heavy duty brackets for some floating office spaces. These brackets are so sturdy and strong that VIP's think the counter-tops were welded to I-Beams (nope just studs), Absolutely great product, and one that is difficult to find anywhere else !!!

Can these brackets be mounted and used upside down? (I have room for the bracket above the shelf, but not below the shelf)
Tim B on Oct 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: In theory, this can be done. The section of the bracket that attaches to the wall will be much more visible if attached that way. (Are aesthetics an issue?) What I am not certain of is how that change would affect the weight-bearing capacity of the shelf. Given how much weight these are designed to hold, though, this would not likely be an issue for most of us.
For the 21" bracket, is there a drawing that shows all the dimensions of the bracket? if not, what's the dimension from the back corner to the inside edge of the web?
rick k on Jun 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If you look on the web page that the brackets are on, in the lower left hand corner there is a box with the technical downloads. All dimensions are on that page.
Does a pair of these consist of a left and right bracket or are there two of the same brackets?
jscherb on Nov 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Pair is a left and a right one. They are very solid too. Nicely coated. I'm pleased.
what is the recommended spacing between brackets for a shelf?
corey s on Jul 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: As with anything "it depends". Our applications are all medical office. We have used them as work surface supports. Some have been granite and we spaced according to studs 32" apart for a19" deep top. We use them for laminated tops 25 deep also at 32' on stud. When off stud we use strap toggles to mount them no more than 12" from a stud and if multiples are needed then 24" apart.

How are these brackets for storing lumber?
Michael on Nov 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These brackets should work fine for storing lumber as long as you don't exceed the bracket load rating and use appropriate fasteners to mount brackets into wall studs.
Will the 15"x21" brackets support a 30" deep table top?
BigSkyBoy05 on Jun 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: These are the heaviest duty brackets I've ever bought and a great deal for the money. They should not have any trouble supporting thirty inches as long as the material itself is strong enough beyond the 21 inches of the bracket. Of course, everything will depend on what they are screwed into. Hopefully they will all hit solid wood. I would use lag bolts long as needed, and then paint the heads if the look matters.
I will be using these to support a counter top desk. I was hoping to install over the drywall. Has anyone had an issue with this rather than directly to studs?
Linda Z on Jan 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: These are very heavy duty brackets and will work on drywall, if there is a stud behind them that they are attached to. I would not recommend simply using drywall anchors on these to support a countertop, as it more than likely will break the drywall.
I want to build a bench seat against a wall for a breakfast nook. It is L-shaped and 6ā€™ x 6ā€™. I was thinking of having 6 brackets goal. Would the 18ā€ brackets be sufficient for holding 6 average sized humans?
Tyler B on Dec 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have bought these before and used them to hold up my bench in a mudroom for kids to put shoes on and off. I think the 18" are rated at 2,000 pounds per pair. Knowing this I just added a couple extra pairs basically making it so the the bench could hold 3000 pounds on each L. I also lag bolt it int a stud better then normal screws.
can the long arm of the bracket be installed vertically against the wall for better stability?
Patrick C on Jan 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the short arm is 9 inches long, but unless you are supporting 2 tons of rebar or something similar, these brackets are plenty strong the way they are. Heavy gauge steel that sould hold up a houuse, in my opinion.
Can I attach these to concrete? Want to support boards for a bench along a wall.
Labby on Jan 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. These would be great for concrete. We've used them on sheet rock walls and masonry block walls.
How wide is the wall mounting flange?
martin S on May 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The Flang is 1.5 inches.
Would these be adequate for wall mounting a 36" deep piece of butcher block (with a ledger board backing) to act as a floating desk?

I'm worried that the angle brackets aren't deep enough.
eddie on Aug 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: These brackets are extremely sturdy and very good looking, I think they would hold it well. We purchased them and made a wall desk we have moved since then but I can say these brackets are tough.
What size brackets should I order for a 45 x 12 granite shelf? I don't want to anchor the shelf down, just to set it on the brackets? Thanks.
Patricia B on Oct 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The real question is why do you NOT want to fasten the shelf to the mount brackets? How much does the shelf weigh? How much accident and medical liability (not to mention physical pain) can you tolerate? Check with your insurance policy and agent. The bracket needs to be sufficiently strong enough to not just support the weight of the shelf, but content on the shelf and also provide stability and safety.
What is the material thickness (gauge) of the steel?
Stanley T on Dec 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: the specs on there web site say 1/8" steel
Did the brackets get manufactured in the USA?
David C on Nov 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: These are made in China.
what size screws should be used to attach to shelf and to stud?
Joe M on Aug 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I used either 1/4" or 5/16" lag screws, 1.5" long.
Is this product recommended for wet areas?
Jorge A on May 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I can't really say for sure how they would do in a place where moisture is often allowed to remain on them, because I've only used them in enclosed areas. They are coated with a good, heavy coat of black paint and the steel is very thick all over, so they should remain strong for a long time even if they get wet from time to time.
Morning, I have 2 shelves sandwiched between a wall and a cabinet hung over my stove that measure 52"w x 10"d. what bracket would you suggest? The shelves have dishes, cookbooks and a small microwave. I'd like brackets that are low profile that will not be in your face so to speaknow as I think I need three for each shelf. Thanks in advance for your help
