Perfect fit
Was a cinch to install. Note: they recommend this as a two person job. It is. I did it by myself, but wouldn’t do that again. There’s a point the arm is on top of the riser block without being attached, and it’s very dicey.

Easy upgrade for big improvement
The upgrade process was easy to accomplish on my Jet 14" band saw. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.

I chose to replace the tires at the same time, which made the upper mount easier to handle without the extra weight. I recommend removing the upper wheel before installing the riser block.

Unfortunately the tensioner gave out under the added load, but that's a separate issue and a small cost to rectify.

excellent addition to my Delta band saw
I have seen the question asked if this block could be used for a Delta saw. If you have a drill press and basic skills it is a moderate job to modify this riser block to fit an older Delta machine. The guide support post is 7/8 inch and the Delta uses a 15/16 inch post so I will buy a piece of cold rolled steel which should work just fine.

Big improvement!
Riser blocks work great. Have to remember though to read instructions before installing (there are a few not-so-obvious things you need to do!)
Now if the power was a little higher...

I would like to be able to re saw smaller limbs and logs that I have available to me in order to salvage some boards . I have read several reviews and the product seems pretty straight forward. There is also a good you tube out there demonstrating the assembly so I don't think it will be too much of an issue upgrading my Jet from a 6 in to a 12 in cut.

will the jet riser kit fit a delta 14" bandsaw??
gregt on Jun 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Sorry no, this would not be compatible with Delta saws.
I have jet model 708705 will this kit work on it ?
Don W on Jun 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It will work. At worst you will have to modify it as I did to get it to fit on my delta 14 inch band saw. I had to grind off the pins and drill new holes to get it to work with the Delta. I also had to cut a notch in the blade guard to fit it on the delta.
Will this work on the porter cable PCB330BS?
Greg S on Dec 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No idea. I do know I have to modify it to fit my Delta 14" bandsaw (the original Delta riser kit being no longer available). Modification in my case means accurately drilling new holes for the registration pins.
can you tell me if the riser block for the jet bandsaw will install on the new rigid model r474? Thanks. Dave Brogan
David on Apr 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: My research found this is the only riser block kit available anywhere. But it is EXCELLENT! Unless you have a Jet Band Saw, the pin pattern most likely will not be the same but you can easily create a template for the new holes to be drilled out and use the pins that are already there. Buy some original manufactures spray paint like I did and it looks like original equipment. I would rate this product a 10!
I have a 14" delta band. I see that riser block fits "most" 14 inch saws. The reviews indicate yes but the q&a indicate no , which is the corect answer.
Leonard G on Feb 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I used the Jet Riser kit on my Delta 28-216 14" bandsaw. Its not for the faint hearted as you cannot use the alignment pins in the riser block to get the default co-planer alignment of the wheel mounts. I had to use a straight edge and tap the top assembly around to get the wheels in co-planer. But i have not had to adjust it since and i resaw as will as various rip and curved cuts with it. I had to reuse my Delta blade guide rod as the longer one in the jet kit was too small in diameter. Im ok with the blade guide assembly not going all yhe way down to the table. With the wheels in co-planer and proper blade tension, i dont get any barrel cutting or blade wander. Its been working good for me for well over a year.
What riser block kit will work on import bandsaws? 14"
GREG B on Aug 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: my saw is a Ridged 14 inch band saw and the jet riser block worked really nice. I think most of the cast iron necks are probably cast by the same company and then built to look a little different.
My last question about riser block fitting 12 in Jet.
There is no break in the casting to this. My bad!?
Tony on Jun 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, there is a break in the casting, if you look on the backside you'll see the break and couple large bolts that hold there riser to the base. FYI just make sure you order the correct diameter of the guidepost. Other than that the installation was satisfying straightforward.
will this fit my steelex bandsaw ?
Don M on May 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: After doing some research about the Steelex saw it appears that it is able to accept a riser block. A first option would be to contact the manufacturer to determine if they offer one to fit your saw. Concerning the Jet riser block sold by Rockler it would depend on your ability to alter anything that is not compatible. My use of the riser block was for an older Jet Model that is no longer supported by Jet so some mods were necessary.(ie, the alignment pins were on opposing corners to my saw) It has worked well for me. 'hope this helps!
Will this riser block fit an older 12" jet-120006?
Ed W on Jan 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I do not know. When I was looking to buy the Riser Blocks, I called Jet Tech Support and they told me the part number for my specific band saw. It was not just model number dependent but based on the size of the work surface. It is the best investment I did on the saw and now I am looking to upgrade to a 18” saw capacity as I am a woodturner. Much success!👍
Will this fit my older Jet 14" bandsaw?
Janet M on Jan 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will. Install was easy and I was worried if raising would affect the accuracy of cut and it did not. Hope this helps!

Will this riser block fit a 12os model?
Tony on Jun 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have a 14CS, I would check with Jet. If you are able to use this, I’d remind you to make sure the riser block faces the correct direction and be careful removing the black guide post that the blade guard raises and lowers on, The spring and ball Bering can come out...not fun trying to get them back in.
Will this fit a Steel city band saw?
steve m on Jun 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Don't know, as I have it installed on my 14" Jet bandsaw.
Will this fit a 14" Powermatic bandsaw?
Lee Bevins on Jul 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: As is, I don't know. It may be possible since Jet and Powermatic are owned by the same company and their machines sometimes share parts, but I can't say for this particular part. That said: if you're willing to do a little modification to the Jet riser block, you can make it fit even if it's not a direct drop-in fit. This is what I need to do for mine. I have a classic Delta 14" band saw, but riser blocks for it are no longer available any where. I bought this Jet block knowing that I will have to drill it for relocating the alignment pins to fit my Delta.
I have an old Delta 28-203 14" bandsaw. Wondering if this riser will fit. Also do I need to upgrade ($200) Carter bearing kit?
Jim M on May 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not sure if it will fit on your Delta as I had a Jet, but do know my old Rigid bandsaw took the same riser. The riser came with a new guard post and sliding cover for the upper bearing. Did not have to change the bearings at all. The blade dimensions are the same except length. I am just sooooo impressed with it. I struggled for ever seems like and the added height is just great. I even think the longer blades have a better feel when ripping for some odd reason. Might be the added height. It would be worth your while (I think) to further investigate to see it these will fit your machine. I see a couple of choices for you. 1. Pull the parts list and see if the picture will help 2. Consider calling Jet. I did for my lathe and they are really helpful there.. Good luck.
Will this riser fit my Wilton model 8201 band saw?
Andy J on Nov 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: If you search Wilton 8201 reviews there are a couple of you tube videos where a man shows that he installed the Jet 708717 riser kit on the Wilton saw. (see shorter video where he shows the box and part number) Check them out. I accept no responsibility for the accuracy of this or any other information. Make your own informed decision based on your own research! This is offered only as a referral to information, accurate or not. 'hope this helps.
Will this kit fit a 14 in Harbor Freight Bandsaw ?
PaPaTom on Aug 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I doubt it, as the riser is a precision fabricated unit specific to the Jet bandsaw.
Will this kit fit a Buffalo 14" band saw made in 1985?
William c on Jul 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not sure at all. I know it would fit my old Rigid from Home Depot. I REALLY like the added depth of cut. It would be much worth your while to fine a Jet or Rigid dealer and measure the base. The riser just uses a taler spacer block.
will the grizzly 14" riser block fit an older
