Work well and produces a nice clean groove
These burners produce a nice clean burned groove that gives your tuning project a nice clean finished look. You can control the depth of the grooves by applying more or less pressure and holding them in place longer. A very nice look.

Perfect for my use
This set is the middle wire burner set. I have the Commander VS 12" lathe so I turn 'small' items like pens, boxes, bowls, etc. Love the three diameters. Exactly meets my needs.

Kc wire burners
I have created quite a few handles for Christmas gifts and I used this wire to burn areas of these handles. In my opinion it made the handles look much better. These wires worked great.

To help define accents on turnings
Floyd F on May 20, 2017
This is the 'in between' length of wire burner since I only turn small things due to a small turning space. It will fill all of my needs for a wire burner.

A burned accent looks good on many turnings. I knew Rockler carried them and they had a good price on them.

Trying this in lieu of fine parting tool or skew. Likely easier to make evenly-spaced, evenly-sized finger grips and accents on pens.
Jeff L on Jun 23, 2016
Needed a little accent for some turnings I can doing and think this would be a great accent to the spindles I have to make for the project.

Does this product work on arylic?
Michael D on Nov 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It really depends on what effect you are trying to achieve. If you use a wire burner on an acrylic blank, it won't leave the burned accent groove in the acrylic surface like it would on wood blanks. It will cause the acrylic to melt and deform around the wire, which would leave a groove surrounded by a ridge of acrylic material and probably a mess of acrylic on the wire burner.
If you're trying to cut grooves into the acrylic blank, try a small parting tool, or beading tool instead. if you want the grooves to look like the burned wood, you can apply a dye to the grooves to make it look that way after you cut them.
