Very Good
This is a great product. Makes doing pocket holes very easy. I chose this one due to the size, price and bit depth setup jig on the side of the unit. I really enjoy the storage on the underside for the bit and driver. I added a spot for the Allen wrench.

Woodworking Experience:
For basic joinery you just can't beat pocket holes
This jig is well made, should last many years. Pocket holes cut assembly time significantly. For everyday projects, they can't be beat.

BEST ANSWER: 1-1/2" thick
How expensive are the drill bits? Are they easy to get? How expensive are your self tapping screws? Are they easy to get?
Slacker on Jan 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The bits came with the kit and haven't needed replacing. Also when I bought the jig I bought the set of assorted screws at the same time. I haven't had to get more yet but they are easily available at Rockler.
does tis come with a case?
Roland N on Mar 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The K4 once came in a gray plastic case and is now packaged in a cardboard box, which is still relatively sturdy as cardboard goes. Kreg also sells a plastic toolbox especially made for pocket-hole jigs, which you can see here: https://www.kregtool.com/store/c22/kreg-jigreg-accessories/p363/system-organizer/
Will this system work on mitered joints like picture frames?
Joe H on Feb 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It will if you use it on the back wide part of the frame. You probably shouldn't use it on the edge through the miter.i've never tried that application but I think it would work.
Can this be used to join 2 pieces of 3/4 inch plywood at a 90 degree angle as used in building a cabinet?
jack a on Jan 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the question. The Kreg K4 Jig would work great for joining 3/4" plywood at a 90 degree angle.
How much torque must my drill have in order to drill a Kreg system pocket hole?
Squarehead on Apr 13, 2018
We recommend to use a drill that is at least 2000 RPM.

what is the max thickness of wood this jib can be used on?
H. C on Sep 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The maximum thickness that the K4 will work with would be 1 1/2". Anything larger would not be able to fit between the clamp and the upright. However, with using either the step blocks or the portable base you can use the drill guide block with thicker material but the screw will not be centered.
Can I use the Kreg system to make 45° mitered picture frames?
Dave H on Jan 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello Dave,
Yes the K4 can be used to make 45 degree angle joints. Please see this video as a reference.(https://www.kregtool.com/get-inspired/videos/skill-building/kreg-joinery-for-picture-frames.aspx) Thank You, Billy H Kreg Tech Support
