Laguna C|Flux 1.5hp 1-Micron Cyclone Dust Collector
The c|flux:1 is part of a series of Laguna cyclonic dust collectors that feature a horizontal chute designed to maximize airflow while improving the volume of air moved (measured in cubic feet per minute, or CFM). It comes with a high-frequency remote control, a 1.5hp, 110v motor (convertible to 220v with upgrade kit-sold separately) that delivers as much as 1,314 CFM and a pleated canister filter made from 48 square feet of spun-bonded polyester. The filter provides maximum airflow and removes 99.97% of particles between 0.2 and 2 microns in size. A handle attached to an internal flapper can be manually cranked 270° to dislodge dust from the filter.
An ingenious lift system quickly picks the 32-gal. drum up off the floor and seals it against the drum lid, avoiding the need for a flex hose. This design makes the unit more easily portable because the drum wheels don't contact the floor when the unit is moved. The drum lowers easily onto the wheels for emptying.

I read many reviews on this and other sites. The common theme is that the instructions for assemble leave something to be desired. The sales staff at the store said if you can get it assembled in three hours your doing great. It took me about three and a half to get it up and running. I found that a quick review of the assembly instructions and the parts break down helped assembly. There are a few pieces that aren't mentioned in the assembly instructions. I used the parts break down to install them.
Overall i was impressed on how solid the unit is. I also like the fact that there is literally no leakage from the filter assembly.
My only complaints would be the size of the remote and the 220 volt setup. I was used to a larger remote with the other collector. The staff at the store indicated that the unit is 220 volt ready. That is partly true. To run 220 a new control unit from Laguna is required. I will see how the 110 goes and decide in the future if I will do the conversion

Overall, the assembly was quick ... but, I recommend strongly that you watch a couple of assembly you tube videos by Laguna and read the "wanna be" instruction manual that needs to be updated!
The pictures in the manual are poor quality and don't match many of the parts that are on my machine. The parts pages are so blurry that it's hard to read the fine print. Also, throw away the wrenches that came with it ... a good set of ratchet wrenches will speed the assembly process. Make sure you have that second person to help move the unit in the upright position during assembly...!!!
The other minor issue was there was no tracking number to use to find out when the unit was going to be delivered. Rockler needs to improve that customer contact especially on a major purchase like this. After I got a call from UPS (nearly 3 weeks later) I finally got a tracking number. All these issues are minor, but frustrating.
The best things about this collector are:
- The ease of use of chip collector.
- Powerful suction.
- Remote control.
There is one thing I was not too impress about ... it is the manual. As is if this is the first time you have ever put together a Laguna dust collector ... do a search for a video on youtube and watch it first. It will save you a lot of time and frustration.
Overall I love this thing ... works amazingly.

I do have a couple complaints, though it wasn't enough to knock off a star. Like others have said, the assembly instructions could be better, but it's still worth the extra effort. I also would have like to see Laguna do something better with the collection bag under the pleated filter. The way they did it is pretty much industry standard, but it's a little tricky to get the bag and clamp ring on without help, and with how innovative Laguna is, this seems like an oversight.
Overall though, this is a great unit that has performed beautifully for me every time I turn it on, and I would definitely buy it again, in spite of the minor shortcomings.
