I bought this switch for an LED cabinet-lighting installation, and it is perfect. Compact, reliable, and inexpensive. What's not to like?

Purchased the switch to use with some xeon low voltage lights I am going to install in cabinet I am building. Haven't got far enough along in the building process to install the switch. So at this point I'm not sure about any of the switches particulars. Do know this much however, it's small, should be easy to mount and wire. Plus it's the only switch I could find to do what I wanted to do. That being lights come on when the cabinet door is opened and go off when the cabinet door is closed. Will know more once the switch has been installed and is in use.

My project was to provide interior lighting for a secretary desk in my hallway. After much searching this product proved to be the best solution. Works fine so far. Delivery was prompt.

So far it was the only small switch to do what we wanted to do on our many boat cabinets. Open the door the light turns on, close the door the light turns off, that said we are in process of installing them, easy to use, mount and wire. Once we power them up will know more.

Previously ordered Door Contact switch 498.5.980 which were supposed to be door open - light on. But thankfully before drilling mounting holes this week discovered opposite is true. Door open - lights out.

I choose this because it is the only low voltage led switch I could find. When you have a monopoly, the logical thing to do is stick it to the customer. That is what Rockler has done. Charging $23.00 for a switch that costs pennies to build is a rip off.

looks like it will do the job.

I needed a switch for an outdoor cabinet door for a light strip that will be powered 12V DC power source rather than AC. I was assured by Rockler rep that this will work. Yea!

I'm trying to light my pantry...door open = light ON...door closed = light OFF. What does it contact with? I can't tell from the picture. And can low voltage led connecting strips be hardwired to this. I have two outlets in the back of my pantry and need to light both the top and bottom off of one switch.

BEST ANSWER: I can answer the first part - the pressure from the closed cabinet door pushes that little disc-shaped part in, which cuts the power to the lighting - when you open the cabinet, the disc is spring-loaded to bounce back and the circuit is restored. We have used one pressure switch for multiple LED fixtures, so the circuit can be interrupted between the LED driver and the power source; if you interrupt it between the driver and the fixtures, you would need a separate pressure switch for each fixture.
What's the power rating on the switch?

BEST ANSWER: It says that it is for low-voltage systems. I use it in a 12V LED lighting system, and it works great. Do not run a 120V circuit through this thing.
