This 5-Piece titanium-coated countersink set includes bits in 1/4'', 3/8'', 1/2'', 5/8'' and 3/4'' diameters. Each is ground from alloy steel and coated with titanium to extend the service life up to 6 times that of uncoated products. The edges are hardened for quick cutting in soft metal, wood, rubber and plastic. Countersinks are used to drill a conical depression that allows screw heads to sit flush or recessed below the surface. They are also useful for removing the burr from newly drilled holes to improve the appearance and remove sharp edges.
