Nova's Pen Mandrel Saver provides additional support for your mandrel to keep it from bending or ruining the point on your live center. With the Mandrel Saver installed, the mandrel shaft extends through the hollow live center, providing support without pressure. Your pen bushings will press against the center, but little to no pressure will be put on the mandrel shaft. Turn the tailstock quill adjustment wheel to tighten the tube and bushing assembly. There is no need for an extra spacer bushing—the system adapts to the length of your project. Works with most pen mandrels that have a shaft diameter of 0.245'' or smaller. Fits any lathe with a #2 morse taper.
