Good biscuit joiner, no setup needed
Out of the box the joiner was square and true.

The only minor downside I could see with this biscuit joiner is that the cut offset adjustment knob is uncomfortably small for the force required to turn it. When I first unboxed I spent some time trying to lube the friction points to little avail and gave myself a small blister from twisting the knob back and forth excessively to work in the lube.

Perfect tool
I have owned this Porter cable Biscuit joiner now for over 18 years and have never had an issue with my dust port clogging up or not doing what it was intended to do. I wonder if newer versions of this is causing the problem. I do know that the bag should definitely be cleaned regularly like most power tools. I suppose it would also depend on the materials you're joining, larger debris versus mainly dust.
Just be sure to clean that regularly and you shouldn't have a problem with The Porter Cable Plate Joiner

Great Joinery Tool
I have had the PC Biscuit joiner for over 5 years. It has become my go to tool when building panels or large wood tops. The tool works well, you will need to become familiar with how to best use the tool and adjust it to get the best results as there are some tricks.
The dust Bag will clog (mentioned in another review) as it is small. The dust port pipe can be fitted with a shop vac hose. I always use mine that way and it clears out all the dust and chips while keeps my shop clean. Using it like this it is fairly dust free.
When using the tool make sure your wood is flat and the joiner blade goes in straight for the best results. It took me a practicing to make sure I pushed it straight into the wood especially when having it hooked to a dust vac hose.
When joining 45 degree corners use smaller biscuits, it will line it up perfectly. Larger settings can blow through a piece.
Finally be sure you don't set it on the edge of your bench, if you do they do sell replacement parts for the fence on line
. Some lessons are best learned by listening to others.

Porter Cable Biscuit Joiner
As long as you make sure you position the Joiner in the same place every time, it will keep you lined up nicely when making a multi board project like the Corn Hole Set in the picture. It also works great with my Dust Collection system.

It's a great addition to my cache.
After using many different models, the porter cable deluxe is the best. It's ability to cut at 130 degrees makes it much more versatile.

Michael M on Oct 8, 2015
I got it because the old one broke in the middle of a job. I used the new one until the old one was repaired. I then went back to the old one. I think this biscuit joiner is one the best things out there, but I also think they have listened to MBAs who have these wonderful ideas for cutting a corner here and there, but that will result in a product that "is just as good." It's not. I understand the new one has a fence that cannot be relied upon. The old one has a fence that works like a champ.

BEST ANSWER: Technically you can review the specs of these unit online. I found the differences to be minor. I have used both and each performs well. I selected the Porter Cable model because it was more comfortable in my hands. Hope that helps you.
I am new to using biscuits, I got a porter-cable. The biscuits are way to loose in the slots. What am I doing wrong? Are all biscuits the same, or do I been adjust some think?
A shopper on May 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You can get different kinds of bisquits. Not all bisquits are the same. Are you sure your cutting blade is tight ?Make sure you do not tilt the machine while you are plunging. If you can put material flat on surface and jointer on same surface. But I think It's youre bisquit sizes... Gary
