Sorby Micro Spiraling Set
So far, I have only played with this tool...no finished pieces yet, but I really like the tests on scrap. Will definitely be using this to enhance boxes, bowls, tops, etc.

Well..what can I say...I went down to the Tukwila,Wa. store to pick up a router base and they had this really nice lady Carol doing a demo on a mini lathe turning an ice scream scoop I saw she had the knurling on a handle and she showed me how easy it was to use..2 ice cream scoops kits, 6 bottle opener kits, Sorby spiraling tool, and a router base...besides myself another gentleman standing there bought one as well!!! Tried it at home works great, easy to use...Thank you to Carol for showing it to me!!

I bought this because I tried...
I bought this because I tried a pen wizare that cost 100s more and didn't do what I wanted so I bought this tool and it works fantasticly. I use it to put spirals on pen bodies and can make any pattern I want. And now I see you can buy other tools to fit the aluminum handle for this and I plan on doing just that. Thank you.

I've used it once, and it worked well. The item was a full-size NFL football that I turned from Jerusalem Cedar. I needed some sort of texture for the football and this was the closest tool I could find to do the job. Very satisfied.

Have used it on the lids of two lidded boxes. It did a good job and with practice I'm sure I will improve. Not as hard to use as I thought it might be. Had a couple of pointers from a friend and it certainly made a difference. Will try to texture the edge of a platter next and I am sure it will make a difference in the looks of the finished product.

Upon seeing this as a sale item, I did some research. What a fabulous idea! Wonderfully smooth-finished exotic wood is exciting, but the ability to make ho-hum wood attractive adds a whole new avenue to making attractive turnings that not only are exciting, the technique may add a whole new market for those of us interested in selling our work.

I've been wanting a spiraling set from Robert Sorby and also the small handle. I've got the Turnmaster/Sorveign set and like using the same handle for all the cutters.
