Rockler Cross-Back Shop Apron

A generous cut, spacious pockets and comfortable straps that take the weight off of your neck make this apron a fan favorite.

The Rockler Cross-Back Shop Apron offers our popular criss-crossed straps, which take the weight off of your neck, and they've been widened for even greater comfort. The long length of the apron provides good leg coverage, protecting your torso and thighs from dust, glue, finishes and excess wear from friction. On the average height woodworker, the apron will reach nearly to the knees. The generous width reaches well around the sides of your body, keeping dust out of your pants pockets as well.

  • Longer cut for better protection
  • Deep pockets are sewn flat so the contents won't spill when you bend at the waist
  • Wider shoulder straps for greater comfort
  • Highly adjustable for a perfect fit
  • Quick-clip strap closure offers easy-in, easy-out

Well made and we got it on sale.
I got this for my wife because she didn't like the neck strap on her old apron. With all the stuff she carried in her apron, it dug into her neck. The Rockler apron put that on her shoulders and there was plenty of room for all her tools. She sewed a seam on a few of the pockets for a better fit for some of her things, such as the dust collector remote.

best apron I've ever had
Nothing but praise. My only upset is that shortly after I purchased at full price it went on sale for half. I would have bought two.

Woodworking Experience:
Very durable, comfortable, and good storage.
Just ordered my second one. I’m 6’4 and 275, and ordered this because i needed something long and big. I wear it at my workshop every day, and it lasted 2 years of hard abuse. I use a lot of small tools, so I sewed a few separators in the larger pockets on the bottom.

The one I have has only a few big pockets (so everything is in them at once) and the quick release clasp keeps releasing on its own.

It was affordable at first for $19.99 but the shipping brought it up to $30, it doesn’t cost $10 to ship this apron, I hope it’s a good quality apron.

Why did you purchase this item? Is it as great as it sounds? Would you recommend it to other woodworkers and crafters?
Diane E on Jun 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is longer than the standard apron and I wanted the length to protect clothing. The pockets are also deeper and it is easy on/off and I like that! All straps are adjustable so if you are tall, short, or somewhere in between, you should be just fine.
I am a big old fat guy. 40+ inch waist. Will this apron fit me
Dave C on Feb 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, Dave, this apron will fit. I am 6' tall 300# and a 52" waist and it fits me. I love it. It is the only one I have found that fits good and is comfortable to wear. Thanks, Ted
What does it take to get all the straps around you and snugged up? Looks like it would be hard to get on. Your insight is appreciated!
Larry D on Oct 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is easy to put on and it fits great. Doesn't bind or move around while being worn. I am a very big man and it is the only Apron that fits without adding extra length to the straps. The straps snap together then you just squeeze them to undo. I am thinking about buying a couple more in case they quit making them. Great buy. Ted Reformed Woodworks.
Mine arrived and was dark blue.Is current one a lighter blue as to not show dust so easily?
P A on Jun 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You will get a lighter color after a few washing! It kind of like a pair of jeans that lighten after laundering.
Could someone explain how or why this could cause cancer or reproductive harm?!?!? This seems like an important detail.
navyjoe on Mar 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: My wife works for a retailer and there are several garments that contain the same warnng. If you notice, it is a california warning. The state of california has a law that states anything made with anything except organic material must contain this warning. I am not an expert on what does or does not cause cancer, but it is a California law.
could a small woman wear this? Is it adjustable?
Sherry C on Nov 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I think so, I am 5' 5" and it fits very well. Some smaller guest have used my spare ( i have 3 total) and we just tighten things up a bit. The belt around the waist are helps a lot.
If you are working around the house how is it for up and down ladders and kneeling?
Fritz on Jun 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: works great on ladders and kneeling it's just when you bend over that stuff in the top pocket falls out and stuff around your waist jabs you. Apron is best in the shop and tool belts with side buckets are best for moving around on job sites. After almost half a century working with tools I know no one solution solves all problems. For shop and home this apron and a tool bucket or bag will get it done. I have a belt rig for job sites, apron for shop, designated electrical bag for wiring, box and bucket for plumbing repairs, and a hand tool bag for everything.
Does this apron have the irritating issue of sawdust accumulating in the pockets?
Clay F on Nov 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have used it for several weeks now and have much less sawdust (virtually none) in the pockets than my "old" one which seemed to have sawdust magnets in the pockets.
