Star knob
Very well made, and love the soft cover that doesn't bite into your fingers.

4-star knobs met the need
I ordered eight (8) knobs all total; 4 went to the high school wood shop and now are being used in a jig for re-sawing wood from an old barn and shed using the band, saw. My four (4) are being used on jig for lap joint picture frames made out of conifer limb wood. Works great, as anticipated, now just need some free time to really put it too work.

It works well
I bought this knob to replace the belt tensioning bolt on my old Craftsman table saw. Now I can loosen the bolt to adjust the blade height and tighten it again without using a wrench. The knobs came nicely packaged.

Too Small
The diameter is too small.

Not Durable
Because they are rubber molded handles they are not durable. Under pressure they lose their adhesion between the bolt and the rubber handle. I removed the blue cap, drilled down through the rubber to the metal bolt, applied several drops of super glue and replaced the blue cap cover.

I needed this type of screw to tighten the legs of my quilting frame and could not find them anywhere! The guy at my local hardware looked this up for me.

Have used both male & female 4-star knobs from Rockler for years. Great for jig make up and for replacing bolt adjustments that require wrenches; these are for jig set up.

They appear to stand off the support piece a bit more than some star knobs, enabling the fingers to grasp and turn the knob.

Do you carry the different length bolts to use with these?
Brad M on Aug 14, 2017
Can the bolt be replaced with a longer one?
Paul B on Feb 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No because the bolt is molded into the knob. I suggest getting the female version (59277) and this way you can use any length you desire after inserting and gluing the threads with epoxy.
