It is difficult to imagine how this tool could disappoint. I suppose it could be off, but I doubt it. That being said: it works beautifully. Small, simple, and idiot proof. And I know 'csuse I are one.
This little gauge works great, is easy to use with one hand while you hold and adjust the router with the other, and then hangs neatly on the side of the table or workbench on a hook along with the wrenches for changing router bits. Can't ask for much more. If you need accuracy to, say, 1/64", you should probably spend the money for a digital standing gauge. Otherwise, this little thing is a godsend.
This has proven to be a real advantage for me. It is so much easy to set the router depths using this gauge than the old way I did it with a tale measure. I use it often and believe it gives good value for the money.
This is a handy gauge to set router bit depth. Setting some depths (1.4" for example) gives you only two flat points way out to the side, making it a bit hard to use, but much easier than measuring with a ruler.
I really like this depth gauge. Works great for me. Small, easy to hang anywhere. I've found it to be accurate and simple. Impulse buy that proves useful. Far easier, for me, than trying to set a combination square or use something else.
Great shop addition to any woodworker's domain. Easy to use and unlike some other gauges, it rests flat on the router table, making it easy to use hands for adjustment. It's well-constructed and amazingly accurate for the price. Regarding another reviewer's comments on the markings "not being protected enough from abrasion". As an experienced cabinetmaker,I find this to be true with all measuring tools. On any measuring tool purchase of mine--plastic or metal, the first thing I do is give it a good coat of paste wax and wipe it down--with periodic treatments. This not only cuts down on normal wear from abrasion, but also helps prevent rust or oxidation on a metal tool.
