Silverware Cloth Inserts
I make highly decorative silverware boxes for friends and relatives for wedding gifts and for other occassions. These inserts look great and fit perfectly. A silverware box becomes a family heirloom and is greatly appreciated by the recipient. Over the years, I've probably bought 25+ of these inserts with no complaints.

Just as Promised
This product was just what I expected when I ordered it. I'd read a review about the lack of finish in the knife slots, and that is true, but not a deal breaker. Otherwise, it is just what I wanted. My husband plans to make a silver chest for our adult daughter and this will be a suitable insert.

I'm not a woodworker. I just set this product inside a drawer and it works perfectly. It holds a generous 8-place setting with no problem. The only thing you might want to note is that it is actually the mirror image of the photograph -- the knife slots are on the right.

I wish the knife holder slits were lined. Several of mine were not evenly cut and as you insert the knives you hear them scratching and dragging against the wood.

Rockler Store
We just went through a kitchen renovation. One of the drawers had already been fitted with silver inserts, but the inserts got tossed by accident during the reno! This will work even better because I can easily remove it to move silverware to the dining room.

Price and quality, however the shipping costs are high: +/- 30% of the ordered item value!

Can these inserts be washed or cleaned?
Steph on Apr 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This insert is just like the inside of a flatware box or chest, a felt material over the flatware slots. No it can't be washed but I can't imagine why you'd want to. Fits nicely in the credenza drawer I made for it. Very happy with it. Hope that helps.
how many pieces does it hold?
Robert F on Apr 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I got a 5 piece set for 12 plus 5 serving pieces in to it. It isn't perfect, but it's functioning fine
For Silverware Chests: Can this be attached to the bottom of a chest with any kind of adhesive? Not sure if I will do it, but I am at least thinking about it. Is there any adhesive that won't soak through the cloth, or that doesn't contain a chemical that will promote tarnish? Any thoughts/pros/cons?
Tom L on Nov 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I always use spray contact cement. It works great. The insert has a board like backing that is coated so no issues with soak through. Hope that helps.
