Perfect match to the existing. The new is brass and the old was cast. This catch on the replacement makes it easier to adjust too.

Works as good as expected. Used to secure a lid of a pet crate. Seem to be of good quality. Fairly strong spring to keep latch tight.
Latch is on the bottom of the lid. Catch is inside on the top rail.

How does this catch mount? I'd like a photo or drawing.
Jim H on Apr 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This picture represents the latch being mounted on the top of the cabinet door with the "catch" being mounted to the cabinet frame. I mounted the latch first allowing clearance for the latch to be able to seat on the back side of the "catch" and hold the door snugly against the cabinet frame. The "catch" has the elongated hole to allow for in and out adjustment so the door can fit up snug to the cabinet frame. Hope this helps.--Louis
Is the material brass or steel?
Audrey R on Sep 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Brass, as far as I could tell. Used it on an antique tilt top table. As I recall I had to make minor modifications to make it work for this application, but it did work and work well.
