Brass support
Restored an old wardrobe with a "hat box" door that had hinges at the top. Got tired of propping the door up with my head. The support locks the door up at any angle, works great!

Worth the price and a beautiful accent
Beautiful, sturdy brass supports with screws included. They have good weight and lock securely.

really does the trick
I needed something to keep my shelf from opening too far so I used this and it's great! Supports the shelf and only lets it open to 90 degrees. Perfect!

great heavy duty support
The brass support worked very well. I thought I needed two, but one was enough to hold a heavy maple lid on a Hanse chest. I will use the other on another project. I wonder if they have the same style support in a lighter gauge brass. I make some things that would look nice with two smaller versions.

does the mount for the locking bolt rotate so that the rod is horizontal when closed?
A shopper on May 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes
Does Rockler have a friction support that does the same thing without having to tighten the knob every time you move it?
dennis j on Aug 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: That would have to be one tough lid support.
Is this a friction support? and is the friction adjustable with the knob?
David Z on Jul 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This is not a friction support. The rod is only held in place by tightening the knob
