Squeeeeek No More® Floor Squeak Repair Kit

Item #
84% of 100

Put a stop to creaks and squeaks in your floor with the Squeeeeek No More® Kit from O'Berry Enterprises. The system is simple: use the included tripod guide and driver to drill a special scored screw through the flooring and into a joist. Then use the guide to snap off the screw head. The shank of the screw holds the flooring firmly against the joist to eliminate squeaks, and it snaps off below the surface of the flooring, leaving a totally invisible fix in carpet, and only a small hole to fill on hardwood floors. In no time at all, your floors will squeak no more.

  • Includes a unique joist finder screw for locating your joists.
  • Works on carpeted, hardwood and linoleum floors-even Berber carpets.
  • Additional scored screws are available below.
(1) Alignment and Depth Control Fixture
(50) Special Scored Screws
(1) Square Head Driver Bit with Stop
(1) Taped Screw Example for Berber Carpets
(1) Joist Finding Screw and Fender Washer

Great product that works!
We had a really squeaky floor that you could hear even the dog on, once we found a couple of the joists we played out the screws and its 1000 times better! The tool to find the joists worked really well and was easy. We need way more screws, I will never tolerate a squeak again!

Squeek No More screws
I was doubting the use of these screws until I tried them. They seem to work well, if you can find the floor joist. That is the main problem. I have a mobile home with joists supposedly on 16 inch centers. Not always the case. When I used the screws in one room, they stopped the squeaks ok. My other room is larger and having a problem fixing them. Have already used 100 screws and ran out. Had to order 250 more. I think these are a great product and I recommend them. Easier to install with the items included.

Installation of a dehumidifier in the crawlspace resulted in reduced moisture in the flooring. This drying of the floorboards increased the spacing between boards, thus allowing room for movement which caused squeaking.

If I can't find a joist will these hold well enough in a 3/4 plank subfloor?
Steve K on Jan 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would take the time to find the joist. The instructions will help you to do this and are easy to read. The product works very well. I fixed several sqeaks this weekend in just a few minutes?
I need to fix a squeek in the upstairs floor. The floor joists are steel frame. Will the screws penetrate the steel frame?
Trish P on Oct 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't believe repair kit wood screws would work on steel joists. As far as I know, these are the only screws available with this repair kit.
How far apart do the screws go?
Larry C on Apr 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: that is totally up to you. Whatever it takes to stop the squeaks. You just need to find the area that is causing the squeak.. Sometimes its only one screw in one joist at the right place spot and then other times it takes several screws in adjacent joists. The joist finder screw is a valuable tool in the kit.
Do I use a bit?
Leroy a on Sep 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: When using it on hardwood floors, yes, you will need a small bit to make sure you are hitting a joist. You’ll drill a hole small enough for a paper clip to fit in, then stick an actual paper clip in the hole to see if you hit a joist. If you are using on cut pile carpet, you can just screw the test screw in the carpet over and over until you find joist. You won’t see the hole. I haven’t used on Berber, can’t speak to that.
What to use to put in the hole where the screw broke off in?
Eugene W on Jun 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I used the kit on a carpeted area and didn't need to cover where the screw broke off. If you used it on a wood floor I would try some wood filler to match the floor.
How long are the screws ?
Wes H on Mar 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Several inches go into the floor before you break off the top. No screw above remains
how would stop squeaks from a hardwood floor that is setting on runner boards on a concrete floor?
larry d on Nov 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This product would not solve your problem. This kit is for screwing the subfloor to floor joists when subfloor is covered with carpeting.
Will this work with berber carpet or cause the carpet to unravel?
P B on Aug 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I used it on Berber Carpet and didn't have any problem.
how many is too any screws room full of sqeaks?
j t on Oct 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Need about 100, Place one ever 6 inches!
How do you achieve the proper depth? My carpet is thin and the scre needs to be broken below the score line from what I see.
Frank W on Mar 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Frank the black jig you see pictured establishes your depth and only allows your screw to go so deep. Then simply tap it over and the head and shaft will snap off.
Our floors creek or pop more than squeak, will this still help? 12 year old house, 2nd floor hallway is the worst! Wakes our light sleeping toddler when we walk by to get to our room.
Kelly H on Jan 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes the creek is from the sub flooring that is loose. This product will tighten the sub flooring back to the joist and literally stops the creaking sound. Finding the joist is the most difficult part however they send good instructions to accomplish this task.
my squeak is where hardwood floors that were installed in two different rooms at different times meet and the joining point is not over a joist.?
