Looks and functions as promised
There is nothing that I would change about this product. It looks better than the product it replaced and glides smoothly
across the floor.

Woodworking Experience:
Great for chairs on carpet as well.
My hubby installed them on a Pier 1 small wingback upholstered chair I bought for my makeup table. Now the chair is the proper height and rolls easily on carpet. The casters look like they were original to the chair, too.

TN farmer, A Happy Homerowner!
I have been using the "ball" type caster, which was polished Brass with a cover over the wheel. It looked great but did not hold up very well. I used then on two low back club style chairs, we used at our kitchen center island serving bar (three meals a day). The ball wheel carried the weight on a very small section in the center of the four wheels. I weight 210 lbs., so that's about 52 lbs. on each wheel. That was within the rated capacity of the wheel. However, our kitchen floor has 18 in square tiles. The caster stem plate had ball bearings under it. When the wheel rolled across the grout joint, the Shock caused it to warp over time and the ball bearings started to fall out. I went through four set of casters in about ten years.

I decided to try these dual wheel casters which would spread the load to 26 lbs. on each wheel of a caster. Now the Shock is reduced in half. You can feel the difference when you push away from the bar. I expect to get a longer life with these dual wheel casters.

What is the diameter of the stem?
A shopper on May 10, 2015
Are the sleeves included? what is the outside diameter of the sleeve?
JPMontano on Oct 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I believe the sleeve was included but I cannot say for sure. Since I have them installed and not sure if the sleeves were included, I best not try to answer your question. Rockler is the best to ask.

The overview says the color is black and the technical details says the color is blue. Which color is it? I need black..
A shopper on Apr 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: When my arrived this past March they were black.
Do these casters lock?
A shopper on Jun 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, there are no locks on these casters.
Are these heavy enough to support an island which has a 100 lb granite top ?. Total wt over 200 lb.
Gene K on Jan 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't know if these are rated for that weight, even in a group of four, but I wouldn't buy them for that purpose. I bought mine for an oversized footstool/ottoman. The first ones broke and these were an exact match. But I don't think they'd sustain the amount of activity that an island would get. Adding to these casters the 200 lbs you quote and you'd soon exceed their effective working load. There are many other casters available in the catalog. Try done others. Good luck.
