I am pleased with the cane. It contains many longer strands which help in my work. I have been doing this for over 35 years and the price increases are quite surprizing.

I was very satisfied with the speed of delivery and the quality of the cane. It did not break easily and had very few noticeable notches in the cane. I would recommend this product anytime.

Sometimes the cane breaks easily, and I lose some of it.
I would recommend this to other people.

For those wondering, stock #41145 is...
For those wondering, stock #41145 is actually fine-fine cane. The product is good quality, and consistent in size. Within a given roll the color is consistent but of course it darkens with age, so a new roll might not match an old roll you have had for a while. One roll was enough to do almost three chairs.

I was caning the seat of...
I was caning the seat of a chair with old cane that was 7-8 years old. The cane kept breaking and it made the job much more difficult and longer. I ordered a new 250 ft of cane and the job was finished shortly and without any more broken strands The order came very quickly. I did not have to wonder when I could get started back on the chair. My thanks!!

Rockler has always treated me very fairly when I place orders with them. They really do stand behind the things they sell.

As a person that reweaves chairs...
As a person that reweaves chairs "for profit" I have always found Rockler's products extremely great! The most important thing to me though is the expeditious service! It is funny to me that when someone brings me a chair to reweave, it might have been sitting in their attic for years, but they want it rewoven yesterday! Rockler gets the product out and into my hands extremely fast!

Natural cane did the job
Cane is a natural product so it is not as uniform in color or to use as one would like. Each strand required a close look before starting to weave. Iâ??d recommend the product be used with that in mind. If aiming for heirloom quality, expect to select strands one by one. In use, the material was mostly strong and flexible. The final appearance was acceptable.

I purchased Rockler cane 20 years ago! I have enough to do a couple chairs. Do I dare use cane that old?
Bill C on Jan 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have never used cane that old but I have several chairs that I use every day that were caned by my grandfather and he died in 1958. The cane is fine in these chairs. Soak it for an hour and see if it is soft and weavable. Good luck. Bye the way there are a number of very good you tube videos on how to cane.
I need to repair weaving on old wicker chairs. How do I determine the width to order if my original is 10mm?
A shopper on Jun 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Somewhere on line I found an illustration that showed different widths of cane. Maybe it was on Rockler's site. Unfortunately I don't remember. I took a piece off my broken chair and compared it. Ten mm is really wide. Are you sure it is not a splint woven seat?
