The Vanity Valet Secret transforms the false sink panel on your bathroom vanity into an organized storage solution for a hair dryer and up to three curling irons. Just open the panel to reveal a neat row of ventilated metal cups, which accept your hair styling tools. With your bulky appliances conveniently stowed in the cabinet, you'll have cleaner, more spacious countertops, and with the included cord wraps, you'll never have to deal with tangled cords again. Since the Vanity Valet taps into otherwise unused space, you'll bring order to your bathroom without consuming any existing storage. To use unmodified, your cabinet opening must be at least 21" wide. Anything less will require you to cut the appliance panel to fit.

Features:

  • Frees up valuable counter space
  • Prevents countertop burns from hot appliances
  • Makes use of unused storage space
  • Tools can be put away hot-no need to let them cool down before storing
  • Integrated cord storage prevents tangled cords
  • To release the cords, no unwinding is required; simply turn the knob to release the entire cord, much like the cord wraps on a vacuum cleaner

Vanity Valet Installation Considerations:

  • Will not work with rectangular sinks
  • False panel required
  • False panel should have a height of at least 5'' to allow for blow dryers to be easily removed and stored
  • When installing the blow dryer do so horizontally then rotate into vertical position
  • Standard 24'' cabinets with a height of 5'' support 2-3 wrapped cords
  • Standard 30'' cabinets with a height of 5'' will support 4 wrapped cords
  • Turn off appliances when they are no longer in use

Cabinet Requirements:

  • To use the appliance panel out of the box, the cabinet opening must be 21" in width or greater. Anything less will require you to cut the appliance panel to fit.
  • Opening beneath false panel should be at least 4" high (ideal height is 5" or greater).
  • Sink can be top or under mount as long as the face of the sink is not covering the opening to the false panel. With the panel removed, there should be room to easily extend your hand past the sink.
  • Will not work with rectangular sinks.

Four storage tubes included:

  • (1) 3" dia. open-ended tube for hair dryers
  • (2) 2" dia. x 5" long closed-end tubes for curling irons
  • (1) 1-1/2" dia. x 5" long closed-end tube for a smaller curling iron
  • Tubes are ventilated to allow heat to escape
  • Made of 304 stainless steel to help expel heat

Easy to read/understand instructions, prep 15 min. & 30 min install
Great efficient use of space. This space used to be like the corners of a Lazy Susan (dead). I added a power bar underneath so my wife can switch everything on/off at onetime.

will most hair dryers fit in the space provided? It seems small, as if the door won't shut with a standard size hair dryer.
laurie i on Apr 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The side brackets are adjustable front to back. Also the larger hole for the hair dryer is to the left or right of the drain so you can move it back as far as the sink/drain will allow. I have two of these units and different hair dryers and all fit with door closed.
Also the shelf can be modified to angle down more if needed.
I would say go
building my own vanity, and I was planning on making the drawers and doors inset instead of overlay. Can I make the panel inset as well?
Chief on Sep 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: my question was about the front panel. yes, the hinges work for an inset panel, they wing out first, and then down. wish I could attach a picture(s) of what I built, but you'll have to take my word for it.
Could you make a wood shelf for a 18 1/2in space for under our sink?
mariap on Jul 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The kit can be shortened to almost any length but because it is premade with the holes in it for different devices you may need to make a cut to both ends for maximum effect. In other words you may need to find the best use of existing holes and make selective cuts. You could also make your own panel from 3/4" board and place the device holes wherever they work best.
Will this work if there is a drawer below the false panel instead of a cabinet, or could it restrict the movement of the drawer below it?
