Walnut Library Bookcase Downloadable Plan

Item #
10101-WJ151
You'll add a touch of elegant formality to your den or study when this handsome bookcase adorns a wall. Its built-up crown, fluted styles and rosette accents include all the classic elements. Choose some figured or burled walnut plywood to complete the package. Though it may look difficult to build, appearances are deceiving here. This is actually a straightforward casework project requiring only moderate skills.

What's the dimensions?

BEST ANSWER: Glad to help. I have not yet started on the project (my wife has me building chairs...) but according to the plans, the bookcase sides are 79 " tall with top and bottom shelves that are cut to 37 1/4 X 14 and set into dadoes in the sides . The base blocking is listed as 38" wide, but I don't see how that can be correct with the top shelf measurements I cited above. I suspect the base should be 39 1/2" across the front and 14 3/4 deep .Also, I cannot determine the dimensions of the top as the plans show the cove and ogee moldings to be 76 inches long, which is clearly incorrect. The back is cut to 71 3/4 tall as the top and bottom few inches are taken up by the base molding and pediment.
