Very happy with purchase, recommend.
As a professional chef, sharp knives are essential to my trade. Unfortunately, even quality kitchen knives don't always come with the bevel I prefer. I have always used multiple wet stones in the past, but when I saw the adjustable bevel guide on the Ken Onion addition I wanted to give it a try. My first using the sharpener I was able to change the bevel on an older kitchen knife and quickly change the belts to a Razer finish. What would have taken me hours on my wet stones took less than 15 minutes from start to finish with outstanding results. I'm am very happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone with similar needs not wanting to break the bank.

works like a charm
I have NEVER been able to sharpen a knife correctly. They usually end up worse than when I started. It took me a little wile to get the technique down but now I have sharpened several knives successfully. I started with my Puma hunting knife, I have had it since 1970, and thought it was a lost cause because of my own lack of ability to sharpen correctly. It now has an edge on it that is almost scary. If you buy this read the directions and follow them you cant miss.

THE Knife Sharpener - Be Careful
My only regret is this was not available years ago. If you want sharp knives, this is the best and very reasonably priced. You will not be disappointed!

I always buy the best tools I can afford so I only have to purchase once.

I received my sharpener and immediately pulled it out and started sharpening knives in my kitchen. It was very easy to follow the instructions and very easy to actually sharpen a knife I was able to sharpen all the knives in my kitchen to sharper than they have ever been to include the serrated steak knives in about 20 to 30 minutes. I then wanted to test it out so I went and got a machete that I had just purchased and it was extremely dull to the point of being blunted, in about 15 to 20 minutes I was able to get the machete to the same level of sharpness as my kitchen knives I have yet to try this on tools in the shop but I can see that it probably will work just maybe not as well on chisels but I am working on that. If you would like one I would highly suggest this sharpener it does a great job and is really easy to use

I was tired of always having dull knives in the kitchen. I have tried many other sharpeners and never got a good result. The Work Sharp actually works! It is a well engineered and sturdy piece of equipment. Highly recommended!

This is one of the best and easiest tools for keeping knives razor sharp. It works on many other tools that need to be kept sharp. The rotating head allows it to be used as a grinder. The belts on this unit are slightly wider than on their other unit. This unit allows you to adjust the angle you want to grind your knives at. The original sharpener does not allow that.

I need a consistent method of sharpening knives. All stones require a fixed position which is hard to keep without guides. The sharpness of knives are always questionable when I have done this.
Ronald K on Oct 16, 2015
Came advertised in an email and i wanted to look at it. My spouse is a great cook and her knives always need sharpening. The video depicted how easy this was to use and give a sharp edge. Well worth the price to give it a try. Will save me from having to buy new knives.

Needed to use some gift cards, and everything else I wanted to order (such as a Beall Wood Threader) was not available from Rockler, but the Beall Wood Threader is available from Amazon, Ebay or Woodcraft!

Can you buy the belts individually or do you have to buy the kit each time. Presuming you use more of one grit?
Dave B on Dec 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: When i registered the product with Work Sharp Tools, i reviewed their website information on replacement belts. They have quite a few options for ordering the replacement belts and even some more belts than originally provided with the product. So, you do not need to buy another unit just to get the belts. I hope this helps.
can it sharpen lawn mower blades ?
Chuck D on Oct 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, and the head rotates 90 degrees also so instead of a point you can have the flat part of the belt facing up. THe rougher the blade, the faster it will eat up the belt though. Best to start on a grinder if you have one to take out any major nicks or a rolled edge. Otherwise it will eat the belt pretty fast. Or just buy some spare belts. It is better used to put a fine edge on the lawn mower blade in my opinion. I used it on mine and it put a nice edge on it. It is fantastic by the way for knifes and scissors. There are tips on the included dvd for sharpening yard tools and blades. Don't forget to check the balance of the blade if you use a grinder to take out major nicks. Hang it on a nail and if it doesn't stay level remove more from the heavy side...
can you sharpen a chisel with this?
Dan R on Sep 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The WSKTS-KO uses flexible, abrasive belt technology that creates a "convex" edge, which is great for knives but not recommended for chisels or hand plane irons. The WS3000 is our premier woodworking tool sharpener and was specifically designed for sharpening wood tools such as chisels. It uses a completely flat, tempered-float glass wheel, with PSA abrasives, for the flattest possible grind. It has a sharpening port that will accommodate chisels and hand plane irons up to 2" wide. The port may be adjusted to 20, 25, 30 and 35 degree angles for repeatable sharpening results every time. The WS3000 is available through Rockler Woodworking and Hardware.
What is the input voltage? Do I would know can I use it on 220 ~240 voltage country's

BEST ANSWER: 110-120v ac out of box , for European power grid you will need a power inverter.
Does this sharpen Ceramic Knifes?
NATHAN C on Dec 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have not tried it myself, but checking the Work Sharp website, I see a Ceramic Knife Sharpening and Repair Kit Item Number: WSSA0002970 diamond abrasive belt kit. So I am going to say yes. It has worked wonderfully for all intended purposes otherwise, and if they offer this kit, I assume it will work as well for ceramic knives too.
Can this be used on gouges as well?
Huddy on May 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, a belt driven system will provide a convex edge. You will want a wood working sharpener, such as the Work Sharp 3000. They have this model right here on Rockler.
