Rockler High Drawer Lock Router Bit - 1-1/16" Dia x 3/4" H x 1/2" Shank
Increases gluing surface and provides a strong, mechanical locking action for drawer box corner joints.
Item #
92123

This unique bit is similar to a locking rabbet bit, but it cuts two tongues instead of one for added mechanical strength and additional gluing surface. The wedged profile of the tongues helps everything snug up under clamping pressure, while still exposing valuable long grain gluing surface. To machine your parts, run the drawer fronts flat on the router table and the sides vertically against your fence. Sturdy 1/2" shank.

Used it yesterday for the first time. Did exactly what I wanted it to do & save a lot of time and effort in the process. Quality bit of kit & I’m looking forward to the next time I can use it.

Easy to use
It works perfectly on 1/2" stock, chips a little bit when using 1/2" plywood. I tried to adjust the speed of the bit and how fast I make my passes, but it still chipped. The drawers looked perfect, even with the chips when I was done. I would also recommend Set up bit (53825). Without it I would probably still be trying to set it up. (the key to setting it up is to lay the set up bit flat, you don't need to adjust it vertically) both passes will be perfect. I also use my micro jig to put even pressure on the stock and the cut was very even. Use the set up block, and the micro jig when pushing the side pieces through, adjust the speed, and you will have perfect corners. your review here. It must be at least 10 characters long. Consider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.

Easy to use
I made drawer boxes in the past and used blind dovetail joints. This drawer lock bit worked great, removed less material and was much faster than doing dovetail joints. I'll use this often.

Drawer lock bit
Haven't mastered this yet. Even with the jig it took several tries to get close. Almost there but still have gaps in the joint. Maybe using the wrong side of the jig.

This appears to be designed for 3/4 inch stock. Will this work on 1/2 inch thick drawer sides?

Can this router bit (91213) do the same things the "Wedge Tongue and Groove" bit (21681) can do?
It looks like it should do the same cut as it's beefier cousin, and allow you to edge join panels up to 3/4" thick?
