Rockler Dish Carving Router Bit - 1" Dia x 1/2" H x 1/4" Shank
This versatile dish cutter boasts two carbide wings that cut a straight edge with a rounded corner and flat bottom. Ideal for cutting hollows and recesses into shallow bowls, plates, serving trays, jewelry box trays, coasters, coin holders, spoons and lettered signs. As an added benefit, the rounded corner is easy to clean, and won't trap dust like a square corner would. 1/4" shank.

This little guy runs nice and smooth compared to similar Whiteside bit which would run out of balance and vibrate.

Great flat surfacing tool
Works really well and fast. I use it mostly when I'm concerned about flatness of the wood I'm about to carve. I can take a fraction off the surface really fast to ensure I have a good flat and smooth surface.

I used it on a router...
I used it on a router table to rout out trays that fit in a men's jewelry box. It did an excellent job.

Pretty smooth finish
1" cutter with 1/4" shank might not have been my best choice. Might buy one with a 1/2" shank to avoid vibration. Scooping out a very hard hard wood, Purple Heart wood. Have 6 chairs to build, 2 down 4 to go.
After scraping and hand shaping with spoke shave.

To carve valet trays with my Shapeoko. Will also compare it to the Whiteside and Amana 3/4" diameter dish bits that cost more.

I'm making a Pool Ball Holder-shelf system, for my Pool Table room. My choice of wood=Red Oak.
I really don't think, Pool Balls, should be stored in the pockets of the table! And, with one leg to stand on, the little trays, are difficult, to carry!
