Freud® 10" x 40T Premier Fusion Thin Kerf General Purpose Saw Blade - P410T

Item #
30948
Rating:
96% of 100

Freud engineers have discovered the ultimate combination of fused tooth grind geometry, blade body rigidity, precise tensioning, a special carbide blend and superior carbide brazing, non-stick Perma-SHIELD® coating and high performance anti-vibration - all working together in concert to provide the ultimate cut. One blade does it all. Whether you're ripping or crosscutting, a Premier Fusion blade will tackle any project. Thin kerf blades remove less material than standard carbide blades, thus requiring less horsepower to produce equally good results. Also available as a standard kerf blade.

Features:
  • The Perma-SHIELD® coating covers the blade plate and cutting edge in a protective layer, reducing heat build-up
  • Perma-SHIELD® blades resist binding in large volume cutting, reducing subsequent blade warp. The coating lubricates the blade, allowing it to spin freely, and eliminates pitch and debris build-up on the blade
  • Laser-cut anti-vibration slots drastically reduce vibration and sideways movement in the cut - extending blade life, and giving a crisp, swirl-free flawless finish
  • The combination of unique design and special polymer filler in the anti-vibration slots reduces vibration above and beyond any other blade, resulting in superior performance
  • Unique side grind polishes the material to produce a superior finish
  • Perma-SHIELD® Non-Stick Coating is a state-of-the-art coating formulation that is superior to any today, and will withstand the toughest woodworking applications. Like Silver I.C.E.™, Perma-SHIELD® eliminates pitch and debris build-up reducing down time for cleaning
  • Features Ti-Co™ Hi-Density Carbide General Purpose Blend for maximum performance
  • Thin kerf allows for easier feeding and reduced waste

Love it!
I have been using Freud blades for some time but specifically switched to this thin kerf, 40 tooth puppy about 2 years ago. Over time there will be minimal wood savings but the true benefits in my opinion are the very smooth cuts, minimal tear-out, and good ripping results. I make a lot of cutting boards and this blade services both my ripping and cross-cut needs well.

10" Premier Fusion
I bought this blade so I could send the old one in for sharpening. After nearly three years of weekend sawing lots of cherry and hard maple it finally a refresh. The newer model is better than the original in the way that it cuts - which is to say it is incredible. I have a Forrest Woodworker II that I also use and for roughly half the price, the Freud cuts just as good. Highly recommended but don't wait as long as I did to have it sharpened.

The Premier Fusion just gets better
My older Premier Fusion thin kerf blade is the older 2-grind style, and it has been a fantastic blade for almost everything except for ripping hard wood >3/4" thick on my contractor saw. But, the current 3-grind design from Freud raises the bar. The cuts are even smoother, and the blade seems a bit quieter. A great blade for a 1.5 hp saw.

Need to replace rip blade that vibrates. This says it does not need stabilizers to reduce vibration. As a bonus it also crosscuts well, it says.

Extensive reviews show it to be best all purpose saw blade EVER, and good cost for quality. Can't afford multiple blades and don't want extra work switching blades for rip then crosscut. Thin version P410T will work on my Dewalt portable saw. Excited to order it!
Billie H on Mar 21, 2018

Looking for a new table saw combo blade. And wondering what is the difference between the Freud® 10" x 40T Premier Fusion Thin Kerf General Purpose Saw Blade - P410Tn and the Freud® 10" x 40T Premier Fusion General Purpose Saw Blade - P410 other than the price and one is thinner than the other ?

BEST ANSWER: That is the only difference between them.
Does it work on sawstop saws?
John B on Dec 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It works fine on my Grizzly saw except that the standard riving knife is too thick. The Freud saw blade is excellent on cross cuts and very good on rip cuts although slower than a ripsaw blade.
Is this a good blade for ripping hard woods such as ipe?
Leo V on Aug 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I use this blade to cross cut pieces for segmented wood turning. It cuts very fine.
What's the plate thickness?
john S on Jul 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The plate thickness on my P410T blade is 5/64" or 2.02mm.
Do you sell a 12 version of this blade?
Corwin J on Aug 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This is not something that carries in the normal catalog. It is something that Freud does make, If you contact customer service they may be able to get that for you.
How does this compare to the Freud thin kerf glue line rip blade? Freud's website gives this top marks for all cuts. I have the full kerf premier fusion and it's incredible, but the full kerf does work my 2.25 HP motor a little too much sometimes, and now I'll be ripping a lot of sapele.
