They do the job
Standard hardware item for professional framing of photos and canvas board (1/8" thick)". Requires specialized tool to install. Price better than most alternate sources. This is a larger package than on most retail shelves so higher package price not a disadvantage.

Framer's Points
These points are the easiest to use, job done in minutes. I have used these for years as I mat & frame photography that I sell. Was glad to find them as they work the very best!

Size issue
I have not tried to use them yet. I think a larger size (longer 3/4") would be better for my purposes.

Work for purpose intended. A couple had some burrs on the flat side rendering them unusable. We were using on walnut frames which required slow and steady pressure to insert. Will crimp in the middle or blunt the point if you rush or aren’t keeping the applicator level.

I bought these framer's points to fix a back panel on a 60year old picture frame. I try to push them into the wood with needle nose pliers But/ did not work do to the wood is too hard. must be oak or mahogany wood. So I had to use the old points that were build into the frame there were only 3 of them. To make a long comment short. Do not but these points without buying the tool that's meant to be used for these points. unless your frame is a soft wood. And the point's can be pushed into the soft wood with a needle nose pliers.

I have used this brand and style of points for years with the framing pliers and have been very satisfied with them. My framing is for personal use and for friends so I don't need a high speed procedure.

do i have to have framers pliers to install the points to my frame?
debby on Jun 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, especially if you're using a hardwood. They don't drive very easily, and to make the job look professional, a driver is a necessity, in my opinion.
Can I just hammer these in?
Athena R on Aug 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: In a word, No. They are too thin and because of their location against the picture you won't be able to hit them with a hammer either.
These points require a special framer's pliers tool. This has a magnet to hold the point while you squeeze a lever to push the point into the frame.
