Arts & Crafts Hutch Hardware Plan
Build a Mission style hutch resembling those made by Gustav Stickley.

I built this hutch many years ago from the Rockler plans and used the pulls from Rockler. The pulls are top shelf and beautiful since they are made in the original Stickley plant. The plans are a pain in the butt but every detail is indeed there but like a good mystery...you have to hunt, calculate and pull a few hairs out. I am once again making another and still facing the painstaking chore of figuring out the cut details but I am almost finished with the sides. I hope to have it come out just as perfect as the first....every piece fits to perfection but you will never build this quickly as the plans are a challenge and there is only 2 minor errors on dimensions conserning the back panel. You best measure as you cut. I also made one half as wide. Beautiful pieces of fine furniture!

Finally finished...I'm guessing 125 hours more or less. It was a challenge for me, the plan leaves a little to the imagination. Quartersawn is a must. Mine looks just like the picture, I used TansTint dye and Bartley's gel stain.

After reading the reviews I purchased these plans anyway because the resulting hutch was exactly what I was looking for. While not for the novice, these plans provide the necessary details to build a great looking hutch.

Building it didn't test my woodworking skills much, but deciphering the directions was something else again.

You need a rating lower than "poor". To call what was sent a "plan" is a misnomer,it is at best a reprint from a magazine. If it had been printed on a "B"size format (11X17) it would have been better. The materials list was acceptable, but the "plan" portion required the use of a magnifier, and the choice of the color scheme did not help.

Why did you choose this?
Is item #52244 the hardware kit or just the plan? I've been searching for the hardware kit but this is all I found.
BEST ANSWER: this is only the plan

BEST ANSWER: any google search will turn up good to real good hardware to buy,But with a little research I think if you can make this hutch you should be able to make the pulls and handles yourself even the hinges make it some real personal your'll never regret taking this next steep Abilene Woodworker
Do the downloadable plans add anything to what was in the original book (Craftsman Furniture Projects, 2007) plan?
I have calculated the board feet and I am not coming up with the same amount of board feet that they have listed at the beginning of the plans. I have figured it 3 times and still come up with less than their calculations. Has anyone else had the same problem?
