The bat came out better than I thought I could do.
It came out great. The blank is not perfectly round and was a bit hard to get centered. Even with the centering gsuge. But took my time and it came out better than I expected.

I will purchase more blanks in the future.
The ash wood worked out fine. Makes a nice baseball bat. Insure your lathe between head stock and tail stock reaches longer than 34 inches.

First bat
This blank was my first try at making a baseball bat. It was a lot easier and faster to complete than I thought it would. The quality of the wood is very good. Nice straight grain.

I made an excellent baseball bat for my grandson, because the blank was excellent. It had a very slight bow to the blank, but when I turned it the bow was eliminated.

is this a single piece of wood or is it laminated?
W I on Jun 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: this is a single piece of wood ..very straight ..perfect for turning a bat
Are these useable for actual baseball actions?
Rooster on Mar 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: While these are not the quote-unquote pro-stock billets, they are perfectly serviceable billets to make quality, usable wood bats if properly made. There is a weight difference on all stock regardless of grade, there is a reason a pro will go through several boxes of bats made exactly alike, specifically for him, to find his one "gamer" bat that feels just perfect. A "pro stock" bat can cost you over a hundred bucks and you can still break it on the first swing. Just bear in mind your bat could meet all the legal requirements of a specific league, but be unusable for league play due to rules of the league wanting "certified" bats, meaning you have to pay the league for their "certification".
Are these Bat Blanks dried out?
Kenny on May 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. They have a very low moisture content and will not warp.
I'd Like to bring some of these Billets back to Canada, does any one know what State they are from?
