It's an indispensable accessory.
Setting this up on my table saw is a pleasure especially compared to the piece of wood I used in the past. It's also easy to adjust, strong, durable and takes up less space on my tool board than the home made device I once used.

Feather board ok
Bench Dog feather boards are ok but the 1/4" bolts do not work well at all with Rockler's universal T track. They need to be used with 1/4 T track.

I want another one & you should get one today!
I waited far too long to get a featherboard. I swore I was going to make a wooden one and never did. I have used it on the router table and table saw. Such a simple thing makes a huge difference. The design keeps wood up against the fence and prevents kickback on table saw. This is a major safety device for a minor price. But the quality difference on the router table is just as impressive. It holds the workpiece against the fence and ensures a smooth cut. I will get another one and recommend to anyone that doesn't have a featherboard to get one before you realize you needed it!

I was clamping a feather-cut board to my table saw top. Setting it up was cumbersome and time consuming. Consequently, there were time I neglected to use it when it would have been beneficial. This Bench Dog product should make it more convenient for me.

Several feather boards are made that are similar the these items. These have an aluminum track where the others are plastic. I think these work better and will last longer. They may cost a few dollars more but I think they are worth the money.

My table saw has a 'dovetail' (or perhaps you might call it 'T') shaped guide slot. Will this fit?
Brigitte G on Feb 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This is made to work with a 3/4" W X 3/8" D slot. If your table saw has that size slot above the "T", this will work.
Does the miter slot adapter come with the featherboard?

BEST ANSWER: yes
What stops it from sliding?
Richie on Oct 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There is a channel machined into the metal bar (that is set in the table saw or router table channel track) that allows the bar to expand. The bolts have a v-shaped head set into the metal bar channel. As the wing nuts are tightened on the bolt, the metal bar expands width-wise and pressure-fits and sets it firm in the table channel.
How do you secure the adaptor and featherboard in the miter slot?

Bench Dog® Miter Slot Adapter 10-012
Bench Dog® Miter Slot Adapter 10-012
BEST ANSWER: If you look at the two holes in the metal adaptor you will notice they have a taper; one side is large in diameter. So the bolts go in the holes with the head of the bolt on the side which is larger and when the nuts tighten up the metal will spread out the sides of the adaptor locking it in the miter slot.

Another way to say it is, put the bolts through the adaptor, head of bolt in the wider hole. Put the adaptor in the miter slot with the bolts sticking up. Put the featherboard on the bolts and tighten the nuts. The adaptor will spread out from the pressure of the bolts acting as a wedge and lock the whole thing in the miter slot.

Good luck. This one works well and you can swap the adaptor, bolts and nuts to another featherboard, or make one out of a piece of 1/2 inch lumber and have lots of shapes.
Can it be used for cutting on
either side of blade?
Andy L on Dec 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes. It can be turned over and used on either side.
Do I need an adapter kit to use this on my rigid table saw? I can't tighten this into the track. Thanks!
Jim S on Aug 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I had the same problem with it. I wrapped a piece of newspaper around the part that's supposed to fit in the track, but would like to see the manufacturer offer a replacement that actually fits.
My slot is 7 1/4 inches from the blade. Does the featherboard have that much adjustment?
Jimbo on Jan 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Of course it depends on the width of your board but in most circumstances more than enough
Can anyone tell me the dimensions of this? I need to know the longest reach it has from the track to the end of the feathers.
RinBarrett on Dec 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Overall dimensions of the assembled "Feather Loc" is 8 1/8" tall and 10" wide at its widest setting. 6 1/4" from the bottom of the track to the bottom of the feathers. These dimensions are approximants. I've had 2 of these for a while and love them. I use them quite a bit.
Does this product come complete with fittings to attach to my router fence ?
Dazzer on Jun 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is intended for use with a table saw and used in conjunction with a table saw fence.
I have a delta table saw with a slot for a feather board and it holds the wood up against the table saw guide so it's nice and tight when I rip something. Although it has worked great in the past I am noticing that when I run a piece of wood through the feather board is now starting to slide. I have tightened the tee nob up as much as I could but the feather board still moves. The round tapered bolt holds but the tee bolt does not spread the plastic enough to keep it in place. Any help would be appreciated.
David L on Feb 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Be sure the round tapered bolt is in the forward position and the T nut is in the back. I cannot get mine to slip no matter how I position it, except when the tapered bolt is behind the T nut.
I don't understand when you say "the tee bolt does not spread the plastic enough", since the spreading part is metal. Anyway, try making sure the tapered bolt is in the front and the metal part has the taper in the front also.
