Native to Southeast Asia, the Black Palm produces dense, stringy wood that may vary in color but is widely known for its distinctive speckled, streaky grain pattern and color contrast. It's stringy quality makes it somewhat difficult to turn and therefore it is not recommended for novice woodturners. Once turned with sharp tools, however, it can form a stunning, one-of-a-kind pen. Blank measures approximately 5" long x 3/4" square.
