Great product!
This is a great kit for new and experienced turners. A friend of mine that has much more turning experience showed me the pens he turns with these kits and I was sold. I turned a couple kits and liked them enough to buy 20 more when they were on sale. I am now using these kits and improving my CA finishing skills. This is a real review by a broken old guy!

Is there a gel refill kit for this pen?
Henry P on Nov 9, 2017
Does anyone else have a problem with the writing tip not completely going back into the pen?
Andrew A on Nov 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have had that problem. The best thing to do to avoid it is to not push the turning mechanism right up to the line at first. Then insert the pen and see where it goes when you retract the tip. Because once you push it too far it is very difficult to fix it.
It can also be caused by trimming too much off the blank or cutting the blank too short.
When I made slim line pens for people, they are running out of ink. Where can I buy ink Refills? Just the ink. What would I look For? Size? Detentions? Thanks
Jeffrey V on Sep 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Office Depot/ Office Max and Staples. Cross refills # 8513-2 contains 20% more ink according to package.
The refill that comes with the kit does seem to run out fast. You might want to use the store bought refills for your gift pens.
What parts are included in the kit?
Derrick T on May 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Everything except the body of the pen which you would turn on a lathe. You will also need a drill bit appropriate for the kit, lathe, drill press. A pen blank holder would be nice too.
? I would like to know why the slimline pens I made keep retracting the point as you write with them. It feels to me as if the twist mechanism is to loose. This is a problem to me as other vendor slimline pen kits do not have this problem.
Raymond P on Aug 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have not had this problem. The twist mechanism on some pens is tighter than others but do not retract when in use. All I can think is that you are leaning heavily on the pen or the refill is not inserted tightly and it is unscrewing as you write
how can i buy more or extra parts like springs and transmissions for this and other pen kits?
Richard on May 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You will need to do a "Google search". The brass barrels are easily available. The other parts can be a problem. Sorry that I don't have more help to offer.....
