Soft close
Used these hinges on a bathroom vanity project. Love the soft close and the way it adjusts. Will use again. No more loud thumps in the kids bathroom.

Excellent hinges
These were very easy to install using a JigIt kit I bought from Rockler. What I really liked was how easy it was to adjust the hinge to get the cabinet door to close perfectly in position.

Worked as described
With no experience in installing this hinge type, the online instructions provided thru Rockler were sufficient for me. No alignment jigs were needed, though if I had multiples to install, I'd probably use a jig, self-made or otherwise. I did not have a 35mm Forstner bit, bit, but a 1-3/8 bit worked just fine with a strip of tape wrapped around the cup to help make it more snug during installation. I was surprised how little gap is needed to still allow the door to open and close freely. Would definitely buy again for other projects with inset doors.

They work well
A jig definitely make installation easier. Directions don't note that inset doors require a stop. They most assuredly do.

pretty much perfect
I have used these hinges and their overlap counterparts for years and years. At the moment I'm making face frame cabinets for our new kitchen to be. I do know there have been problems with Blum's face frame hinges failing after a few years. As my doors will be inset, I will use spacer blocks to bring the hinges out flush. It's a bit more work, but I'm doing it because the one thing I know about these hinges is that THEY WILL NOT FAIL. Others have talked about the relative ease with which they can be installed, so I will add only an amen here. That—and their reliability—make them the obvious choice for me.

Building second of two night stands. These hinges were recommended by the guy who prepared the plan. Not too difficult to install.

I chose these hinges because the template doesn't work with the Blum soft close hinges and these doors are not going to get a lot of use.

These are superb hinges. I've used these and Blum's Overlay Hinges for years now. They're easy to hang, and they last forever. I highly recommend them.

BEST ANSWER: Yes it does. The packaging or YouTube videos will demonstrate any adjustments necessary.
Will these work with 1/2 " door.?
J W on Jul 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hey J.W. As awesome as these hinges are... they will not work on a 1/2" thick door. The required depth for the door hole on these hinges ( and all European style hinges that I have ever worked with ) is about 1/2" so on a 1/2" door you will be drilling all the way thru the door. Not likely the look you are shooting for. Hope this helps....
I have the instructions for #5508 120 Inset Frameless Hinge, but the Door & Cabinet Diagrams are in millimeters, can I get the Fractional conversions for these measurements? Also, I know that the 35mm Forstner bit converts to 1 3/8", but not sure if the 12.7mm depth converts to 7/16" ?
Fred H on Sep 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: 1 inch is 2.54 cm. To convert mm to inches, divide by 2.54. Remember that 1/8 inch is 0.125 inches.
I have a 13/16 " thick cabinet door. I want the door to be inset flush with the cabinet, no overlap. Although the cabinet is face frame, I can build out the inside so that the inside mount can be flush with the frame. What is the minimum clearance, door to edge of frame?
Will this hinge work for this?
FRED B on May 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: So, you have an inset door ... You want a 1/16" gap around the door and the face frame and you want a hinge that is adjustable... You can shimm out to mount the hinge as you suggest
