This chip breaker mates to the blade on Bench Dog® No. 4-1/2, No. 5-1/2 and No. 7 planes (sold separately). Once installed, it helps ''break'' and curl the shavings to minimize tear out ahead of the blade. It also supports the blade at the thin cutting edge to reduce chatter. It is available here for use on extra blades or to replace lost or damaged chip breakers.
