Heavy duty hose
This is a very heavy duty hose. It definitely isn't going to wear out in a short period of time like some cheaper hoses. Weighs more than you might expect, so consider that when mounting it to your dust collection system.

Quality hose. If you have bridging hose clamps like me, watch out for the direction of the coiling. Rockler's bridge hose clamps will fit this one. But I found out the hard way that other brands hose, while great quality, are coiled in the opposite direction making the bridging hose clamps no better than a traditional hose clamp.

I bought the 4" version of this and it worked great. I had bought some other "collapsible" 2 1/2" that won't stay extended and is REALLY maddening. I expect this will work as well as the 4" stuff I already have.

I like being able to see any obstruction in a clear hose. I'm hoping this hose is a good compromise between flimsy and too rigid for a retrofit riving knife mounted table saw guard.

BEST ANSWER: If a person could stretch it with machinery, it might be 10'. But as it is, with normal human strength, it will stretch out to about 8'+, 9' if your lucky. Let's just say it is a "nominal" 10 footer, because it sure isn't an actual 10 footer!

BEST ANSWER: I used a pair of bolt cutters for the spring, and a box cutter for the plastic hose. It worked well.
Can the 10 ft. 2.5 inch clear flexible dust collection hose be cut into smaller sections?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, but it's tricky to do. The wire needs to be cut with precision separately from the plastic housing

BEST ANSWER: In my shop I am using 4" and 2-1/2" on my cnc router shark I am not sure about 1" if not at rockler look at Home Depot on vacuum machine area they may have a 1" for the smaller portable shop vacs
