(1) Aluminum Clamp-on Jig with Steel Inserts (3) Carbon Steel Brad Point Drill Bits in 1/4", 5/16" and 3/8" Sizes (3) Drill Stops and Wrench (3) Steel Drill Bushings (6) Dowel Center Points (1) Set of Wood Dowels
I've only had the opportunity to use the 3/8" portion of the kit so far but I'm very pleased with the accuracy of my work using the provided components. Having installed a new Biesemeyer fence I needed to extend one of my sacrificial fences to accommodate the new length. Using dowels to make a longer extension was simple, accurate and saved me from needing to scrap the old fence.
Great product to make the perfect drawers and cabinets.
It's a great product to make the best ( drawers / cabinets ) with perfect look without any fail with the measurement on the corners and the sides. It's a good set with 3 drill bits sizes 1/4", 5/16" and 3/8" that it can adjust the depth, and it's made for different wood 5/8", 3/4" and 1" thick, the item comes with a built-in clamp, I really like it makes my work more easier. You get what you pay for. I recommend this product to everyone.
Jig was okay, Rockler Customer Service was Amazing
The dowel jig worked well for my application. It had a few issues with accuracy which is why I did 4 stars. But it does do it's intended job and at that price it's hard to expect much more. I did have an issue with one of the bushings being threaded incorrectly but contacted rockler and they had amazing customer service and shipped me a new bushing right away. They definitely earned a lifetime customer just by the quality customer service.
So far I have only done tests on scrap but I'm impressed by the simplicity and versatility. The only difficulty I encountered--no doubt my shortcoming, not the tool's-- was with the collars. On my first few attempts, the collar loosened with the vibration and slipped up. Just be sure you tighten collars firmly--and test first!
With a little practice the jig works fine. I replaced the drill bits with my own brad point bits that were a higher quality and the stops fit them better. My drill bits didn't wobble in the sleeve as the ones provided did.
This kit was easy to use for intermediate woodworker, but for a beginner it may be a little challenging. The alignment was very close to accurate. The jig doesn’t always stay where you put it, and the bit depth holds can get seized up not able to remove from drill bits. Big Al.
This was an intelligent idea that was designed well. Unfortunately, there was too much play in the guides. Much more than a Kreg jig which allowed the drill to angle too much. I ended up returning them..which Rockler did and they made it easy and were very prompt.
