Product is designed for use as a sealer/polish agent prior to applying friction polish. It polishes the wood surface creating an ideal base for friction polish. On the lathe it gives a brilliant shine in seconds, can be handled immediately, is non toxic and water resistant

is eee ultra shine food safe?
Mike P on Feb 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: EEE is not a finish, it is an abrasive designed to be used prior to applying Shellawx, Shellawax Cream or almost any other wax finish. EEE is NOT for use as a stand alone finish. Don't use under anything other than Shellawax range of products or other wax. EEE can also be used as a cut and polish over most surface coatings. The wax and abrasive is removed during the process, so if the original coating is food safe it will still be food safe after using EEE.
How is it best applied, by buffing wheel and what size wheel suggested?
A shopper on May 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I use it to add a lustrous finish to wooden pens. I apply it with a small piece of folded paper towel to the wood segment with the lathe turned off so it doesn't spatter me or the wall behind the lathe. Take care not to get it onto metal bushings! The pumice in the EEE, which does such a nice job 'finishing' the wood, also grinds the bushings into black grit which on light colored pens or more porous dark wood pens leaves a dark ring at the ends of the wood segments. After you've applied it to the wood, turn on the lathe and with a small piece of paper towel, wipe off any EEE that may have accidentally gotten onto the bushings until the paper towel stays clean with the lathe running. Using a clean piece of paper towel, running the lathe fairly fast, rub the EEE into the wood. When it is reflecting light and gleaming, you've done your part. Then just to add a sparkle, I turn the lathe to the highest speed and buff it with another clean paper towel. I have known some to use cardboard to burnish the wood at this stage while the lathe is running fast. You can also use a buffing wheel, if you have one set up. On pens, the diameter of the wheel doesn't matter. If you've already assembled the pen, use a clean wheel. The jeweler's rouge may take the finish off your metal pen parts. Just be careful not to overheat the wood at any stage in this process; it may expand enough to 'pop' off the brass tube in your pen. To give it more protection and to keep the lustrous finish, I usually finish it with Shellawax or Crystal Coat polish.
If I use this product before Odie's Oil, will the Odie's Oil even be able to penetrate the wood?
Daniel on Apr 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, you would need to apply this after the Odie's Oil.
Do you use this in place of micro mesh?
Parnold on Jan 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I use it as a stepping stone from 600 grit paper to the micro mesh
I'm trying to finish a buffalo horn knife handle with a mother of pearl inlay. Would this be recommended for finishing? Would it be safe or even work on buffalo horn?
Mike T on Jun 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have only used EEE Ultra Shine once. It was on red cedar. I was very happy with the results. It seems to have a fine abrasive in it. As you probably know cedar is soft. I think it would work well on the horn, but I would sure want to try it on a scrap mother of pearl first.

What is the best way to apply EEE ultra shine to a unfinished turning ?
Dewayne M on Nov 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: With lathe running apply with soft cotton cloth then with clean portion of cloth polish to your liking.
Can it be used on a high gloss varnish finish while keeping the high gloss in-tact?
T-Ray on Jul 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have only used it as a base finish on my pens. It does make the pens shine. I do not know how the chemicals will interact with another finish.
Do you need a lathe to use this or can you buff it on by hand?
Zacharia H on Aug 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: A lathe is almost indispensable, but a flat surface like a table from my experience can be done with a wool buffer or a buffer with a throwaway COTTON pad. Any other will melt from heat except the wool The cotton can be used and thrown away. Good luck and try using some 800 or 1600 grit paper first very lightly.
