Sturdy, well designed
This file drawer rail is very study and well designed. It fits tightly on the 1/2" drawer edge so that it won't slide around once in place. Mailed in a solid, strong box, it is actually better than the original rail that came with the desk. Thank you.

Built a filing cabinet. Saw these and decided to build the drawer at 12” wide so that these would fit. They’re inexpensive and easier to install than any of the frames and kits I’ve seen.

Have custom cabinets. This will allow me to maximize the drawer options for folders. Will create one drawer with two rows for standard letter then second drawer with a row of legal size.

Will this fit a 5/8" wide drawer sides?
Paul G on Aug 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No. It is a snug fit on a 1/2 inch drawer side. If the 5/8 inch drawer is already made, you might try rigging up a shaper to remove 1/8 inch thickness from the top 1/2 inch of the drawer side. The folder hanger is a nice product, but must be snug to resist twisting off under the weight of the files.
My drawers are slightly less than 1/2 in thick. Closer to 3/8 in. Is this product for drawers that are exactly 1/2 in?
jeff m on Jul 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This a great product for making your own file drawers, but will be too sloppy a fit on a 3/8 in support. You could add a shim to the top edge of the drawer to bring it up to 1/2 in thick.
My file drawer has 1/2" sides, but the width between the sides is 13". I am afraid the hanging files will be a little short of the rails. Is there a way to remedy this problem?
Polly M on Oct 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would think that you would take the inside measurement of the drawer, next measure hanger. The result is divided by 2 and that is what is needed on each side of the drawer. example: if 3/4 short / 2 = 3/8 shim needed on each side.
Will this fit standard undersized 1/2” ply?
Andrew L on Sep 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Fits nicely, stays in place. Works well.

Are these sold in pairs?
JS P on Jul 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No. This is sold as a single piece 48" long which you would cut in half or whatever it takes to fit your drawer.
How wide should drawers be to use these to hang standard hanging file folders for 8 1/2"x11" files?
A shopper on May 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: looking at the "h" shape of the hanger, the top of the "h" is where the hanging file will rest. Let's call that the spine of the hanger. From spine to spine should be 12 inches.
Will it work of my drawer is a 15 inch wide base drawer?
H S on Apr 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: As long as your drawer sides are 1/2" these will fit snugly. The width of your drawer will determine whether you can use standard hanging file folders or not. The average hanging folder is roughly 11 3/4" wide. You may have to install a small partition inside your drawer or look for another alternative to use standard folders.
Does this come in a size for drawer sides of 10 mm?
Lourdes G on Feb 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I'm sorry, it is not available in sizes other than the 1/2", as listed.
Does it work for legal size folders filed left to right in wood lateral file cabinet 40w x 21d?
James A on Oct 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: yes you have to make your drawer box sides out of half inch material . inside demensions must be 12.25 wide to allow for file to hang properly. depth miminum 9.75 . i allow 1.5 extra inch smaller than opening size to allow for file tabs to clear when shutting drawer.
