Combined with the Radius V-Groove Bit (sold separately), Freud's Beadboard Tongue and Groove System mills perfect beadboard in a variety of thicknesses from 3/8" to 3/4", and in almost any width. Mill beadboard from any hardwood or softwood, and use it to create a beautiful effect as wainscoting, wall or ceiling paneling, cabinet and bookcase backs, and more.

To mill beadboard as shown, you'll need to purchase both 32329 and 33593. The tongue and groove assembly includes two slot cutters: use the 1/4" cutter to mill a 1/4" thick tongue and groove for 1/2" to 3/4" stock, or switch to the 1/16" cutter for 3/8" material. Once the tongue and groove joints are complete, use the solid carbide Radius V-Groove Bit to rout the beads into the faces of your boards.

Application: Create beautiful wainscoting, paneling, back panels for bookcases, and much more.

  • Mills traditional beadboard in a variety of thicknesses and widths.
  • 32329 includes two slot cutters to rout either 1/4" or 1/16" tongue & groove joints.
  • Use with any hardwood or softwood to match your project or décor.
  • Use only with a table mounted router and fence.

Works great.
I decided to purchase the Freud Router Bit System to make beadboard for my two bathrooms. Having purchased Freud Table saw blades and dado blades with absolute satisfaction, buying this combo system was a no-brainer for me. It works great. The only issue I had was figuring out the spacers (shims) placement included with the tongue and grove #99-472 set-up. There is a diagram included on how to set-up for different thicknesses of stock being used. I ended up inserting the shims so that there was minimal spacing between the three cutting pieces. I would definitely recommend this product combo.

I wanted to give it 2 stars but I felt that was too harsh, it is a quality bit, but the amount of adjusting and trial and error that has to be done in order to cut the groove properly is excruciating and lead to a lot of ruined pieces. This could all be solved if they included a bearing to replace the top cutter when setting up for the groove. There is a bearing included for cutting the tongue. It's a snap. I have ordered a separate bearing to replace the top cutter and I hope that will make this bit usable. Otherwise I probably won't be using it ever again. You would be much better off buying a tongue and groove bit and then rounding the edges off with something else.
