Woodworking Experience:
This hardware is first rate. The instructions were not any help! There were no understandable measurements and everything is in metric! A real chore to stop and figure out! Customer service was closed on a Saturday afternoon.most people I know ,do their projects on the weekends! The stops came with hex wrenches that stripped out.I ended up drilling holes for bolts to make it work.Overall a very frustrating experience!Lastly the hardware works.

Woodworking Experience:
Nice and sturdy, well made. The catalog description made it sound as though you could connect units because of the interlocking ends. In fact you can only connect two railsthat way. In my application i was setting up two 32 inch doors to cover our washer dryer. This required a run over ten feet so i had to use more rails and figure out how to connect them. Very pleased with the finishedbbn product

This product allowed me to have a closet door in an area where there wasn't sufficient room for a regular door to swing out. The end result was wonderful. I would really recommend this idea to anyone who wants to add an updated look to to their decor.

Currently have double screen doors on my back patio which I have outfitted with sliding rigs constructed from essentially the same hardware used for sliding barn doors. Replacing the entire setup with these overhead sliding doors which will give it a "professional" look.

Patricia W on Sep 30, 2017
what is the distance from the top of the door to the top of the roller?
Gary E on Oct 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It should be 4-7/8 in. This is based on 1-1/16 from top of door to center of rail (per instructions), plus 13/16 (half of rail, per measurement), plus 3 (from bottom of roller to top of strap, per measurement). The instructions are lacking and leave a lot for you to figure out (which is why I'm able to answer this question), but something to keep in mind is that you need about 4 in. from your ceiling to the center of your cleat board to allow for the rollers. While the rollers will be 3 in. off the top of the rail once the door is mounted, you need some clearance to lift the door over the rail. The "lip" on the roller is only 1/4 in., so you could get away with budgeting 3-1/2 in. for clearance, but I think 4 in. is a little safer (to avoid damaging your ceiling). For example, my door opening is 88-3/4 in. and my ceiling is 96 in. I can do a 4 in. cleat (mounted flush with door opening) and that would give me 5-1/4 in. clearance, which is plenty. However, I couldn't do a 6 in. cleat (or I could, but it would be too close for comfort).
What is minimum dimension required above rail to clear ceiling? i.e. dimension on wheel and bracket from bottom on wheel to top of bracket?
Charles H on Dec 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You need a MINIMUM of 4-1/4 in. from your ceiling to the center of your cleat board (assuming rail is aligned with center) to allow for the rollers AND mounting the door on the track.
Can you add a third section to the track for a larger door opening?
Richard H on May 4, 2018
Can i assemble 2 kits to accomidate a larger door or is there a kit for a larger door? ...I only have room on one side of the door opening in which to slide the door
Peter H on Apr 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You can put two sets side by side. You will have to line them up carefully because two sets won't connect together
How thick a pre manufactured door can I use?
Carolyn D on Feb 14, 2020
BEST ANSWER: It was for a customer and I used just the standard 1 3/8" door blanks. If I remember right, I believe the directions said you could go as thick as 1 3/4". Maybe you can contact the manufacturer. It was a good quality hardware set.
Can I use this a a single 38.5” track piece? We just want to hang a door and not have it slide.
Alison H on Mar 16, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can do that as the track has stoppers for both ends. They are completely adjustable so y can locate them tightly to the rollers for
No movement.
Can this hardware be used in an exterior application?
Doug B on Feb 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This one can’t because it is steel coated. They make a stainless steel kit that you can use outdoors. Very pleased with this kit. Good luck!!
Can I buy an additional two door stops for the rolling door kit?
Joeviii on Feb 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Currently, you cannot buy anything from the I-semble kit separately. For instance, even though the website makes it sound like additional track is available, it is not. I assume the same thing with the stops.
Are spacers provided to allow for door to be installed with door opening woodwork/casing?
Richard S on Jan 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The spacers allow room for the door and bracket hardware to clear the wall. This only works if your opening is flat-no casing. If you have casing around the doorway, you'll need to add a 'spacer' board at least the thickness of your casing, and attach your bracket with spacers to that board.
Will the hardware in this kit work for a 70 inch wide door?
WaterdogGeorge B on Dec 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, you would need to 2 sets of hardware and two doors, presumably 35 inches each sliding apart from the middle of the opening. There are other kits that allow 2 doors to slide in one direction staggered on top of one another that might work better for you, although I forget the specific name for those. The type you choose depends on what space you have on each side of the door opening. I purchased 2 of these kits for 2 doors to cover a 72 inch opening. I have roughly 4 feet on either side so there is plenty of space for each door to slide apart. I haven't finished my doors yet so I can't tell you how well these kits work, but they seem high quality and should work well. Hope this helps and good luck with your project!
Can this style door have a bolt lock added so that it may be locked with a key? Thanks. Tonya
Purplelishus on Feb 24, 2020
BEST ANSWER: There are hardware solutions for your problem but I dont think rockler sells them. This hardware kit is excellent but does not provide a lock for the door. Once the door is fabricated you can search for slidding door locks for your thickness of door and how it passes the frame.
How wide a door can I install?
Anabelle S on Nov 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The included steel bar limits the kit to 36". However I went to the local steel supplier and purchased a 20' stick of 1.5 " x 1/4 steel delivered for 17$ and with 2 kits hung 2 4' doors.
Does this have to be attached to the studs, or can I just use the lag screw anchors supplied into drywall? My door weighs about 50 lbs.
Bill P on Nov 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You must install a cleat board above your door opening, which is mounted to the studs. Then you mount the railing to the cleat board wherever you like (but using their pre-drilled holes and screws).
Is there a 96” track available to purchase?
11Pump on Jul 2, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Not as a single track. You would need to join an extra 38 1/2" track to accomplish the length. Unfortunately, we do not just sell the track as a separate item.
What is the dimensions of the door?
Val B on Feb 2, 2020
BEST ANSWER: We have used it on openings 30 x81 and 32x 81
Can I buy 2 more roller assemblies to add another door to the track?
Karen C on Dec 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but the track is 6' long, so if you do not add the second track then your doors will probably need to be reduced in width, or add the additional track with something to join the two together.
Can I use this system to create a bypass door arrangement? I want two doors that can roll in front or/behind the other door.
JBrown on Feb 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This particular set of hardware is not designed for overlapping doors.
What guage/thickness is rail?
Bill S on Jan 30, 2018

I-Semble Rolling Door Hardware Kit, Horseshoe, Black
BEST ANSWER: I had cut my real off also. I ended up using a circular metal Chopsaw. It worked very well. The rails are not extremely thick so you could easily use a hacksaw.
Can I buy just an additional track kit without the extra rollers and stops? Still need the lag bolts though.
westley r c on Dec 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I sourced my own track from 1.5"x1/4" flat steel and drilled my own holes and used my own torx head bolts. It worked great and looks amazing. I get more compliments about the hardware than the door.
