Just the Right Size
I use it all the time for marking small stock and checking a planed edge for square. It's small enough to stay out of the way on the bench. It fits in my apron pocket where it is handy.

Best Value of a Combination Square
This combination square is every bit as good as a Starrett but half the price. The scales are extremely easy to read and the ruler stays locked in tight. The padded case is a nice touch as well - highly recommended.

Pocket Size Accuracy
Small but very accurate. Just a very handy measuring device to have in the shop.

I was disappointed to see that Rockler didn't have a wider selection of combo squares. I purchase this a the lesser of two evils.

Pros:
Square as long as I don't reference off the short ends of the ruler.

Cons:
1. ruler is not a true rectangle. Opposite edges are parallel but edges are not 90 to each other.
2. Measurement markings were printed crooked on one face of the ruler.
3. Rough operation to make adjustments.
4. Inconvenient to re-insert the ruler after it has been removed.

It will get the job done, but there has to be better options out there. I would not recommend this product.

I like this tool, a nice...
I like this tool, a nice working size, compared to the 12" or 18"combination squares I already own. But,the level was broken when it arrived. I have other levels, I'm not going to pay return shipping for an exchange!Editor's note: If any item is received damaged you do not need to pay to reurn Ralph. Just a quick call to our customer service at 800-279-4441 and they'll make the arrangements needed to get you a replacement.

I haven't used this item very much so far, but have looked at the construction and have no problems with it. It is a nice size and it seems to be quite accurate. Removing the rule and then replacing it can be quite a chore but nothing that I can't handle.

The individual parts are solid, nice and heavy for their size. It's not a fix engineer's square though, so there is that tiny bit of slop you get in an adjustable tool. And should you remove the ruler, it does take a deft hand to slide it back in place. That said, so far, so good.
