Beefy and accurate
I appreciate the beefy size and accuracy of this compass. The first one I received didn't work. I contacted Rockler and they were very helpful in getting me a new one FAST and providing a no cost, simple solution to sending the defective one back. The second one I received has worked great. I'm a little surprised by how much I am using this. You can't beat digital!

If you are like me, your...
If you are like me, your first question is why digital ? The answer I found is accuracy, convenience and speed. Like many woodworkers I have an old set of dividers and compasses. Due to their fine adjustment thread, the old dividers and compasses take much more time than the digital to adjust. With the digital you can pull the legs apart then make a fine adjustment with a center wheel. Plus the digital display is easier to read than a ruler measurement and the digital measurement, using either the decimal, fractional inch or metric option, is more precise. With the digital you have the option to convert your measurement between decimal, fractional inch and metric. Also, by using the zero button between 2 measurements the display does the subtraction or addition and tells you the precise difference. Pretty neat!It is easy to switch from divider to compass mode. A calibration tool, extra lead and batteries are provided in a sturdy plastic case. I would give this one 5 stars.

Very handy
I use it more as a compass than a devider. Once it's set you can change radus sizes quickly and easily. it's a real time saver.

Not a precision instrument, not even
Close. Dissapointed by this but hey did not return it since i have no other caliper and it (is) a compass. So. Basic problem is a lot of play between the arms.

Does it really come with/use a tube of lead or is it graphite?
Brou G on May 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Graphite "leads"
Please may i know the manufacturer from China for this product? I have a requirement of about 1000 units for a similar product.
Thanks and Regards.

BEST ANSWER: There's no indication of origin - not even a "made in China" label. However there is an Igauging website out of San Clemente that might help you
