Cocobolo Knife Scales

Long prized by woodworkers for its spectacular grain and color, cocobolo remains a favorite today, expecially for small items where its cost is less of an issue. Cocobolo can exhibit colors ranging the spectrum, from yellow, orange and red to shades of brown with streaks of black or purple, all darkening with age. Sapwood is usually pale yellow. With it's fine texture, high oil content and beautiful luster, cocobolo makes a standout knife blank to complement your best blades.

Beautiful wood in workability, and finish.
Cocobolo is one of the most beautiful woods to use for knife handles, and I have done many.
Easy to work, and very durable.
However, there are people who can have a reaction to it. A very bad reaction, like anaphylaxis. So be careful using this the first time. If you feel any ill effects get to fresh air, and the emergency room.

Wood could not look any more beautiful!
Those three sets of scales were a gift for my college-age grandkid who has already designed and assembled several different knives from old files.
When I handed those to him, the shock and approval, gratitude rang like the tolling of a bell.
The kid is happy. I am happy. We both shall return for more when the need arises.

Great product!

Beautiful scales for a future project, and they are nice and flat, requiring no sanding to get them flat which I would have had to do had I resawn my own scales.

Nice Scales
Good quality knife scale at a decent price. A little wider grain than some of the higher quality scales but they look good.

I've always like the Cocobolo wood species. The grain can really pop. Plus I thought the darker colored wood would look better with the silvered colored metal of the knife
