Really delivered.
I used this after I polished a scratched and marked kitchen table that has a dark walnut glossy finish. I polished with Bison walnut colored paste wax. Both required a lot of hand buffing and it was worth the effort. We use the table a lot, meals, budgeting, homework, etc., etc. I don’t dread the wear and tear anymore. I did two applications and believe that each application makes it even better and more durable. Love this stuff.

Great product, easy to work with, nice results
I built a guitar kit, and chose Liberon Finishing Oil as the final finish. I hand-applied a dye in mahogany-like brown to the back/sides/neck/headstock, and a golden honey-burst dye to the face, then finished with the LFO. It goes on easy, and leaves a nice shine while still having that "natural wood" feel, as opposed to a urethane/lacquer finish. I applied the first coat, then sanded in (P1500) the additional coats (4 total to the face, 3 everywhere else) to get a glossier finish, and that seemed to work well. The wood absorbed a little more oil than I thought it would, but I still had plenty to complete the job with the little can.

I've got another guitar kit on the way, and will be using the same process on it, too.

Lov It
Loved the crew that sold it to me and their advice was great. Only my second woodworking project and I feel like it went great. What do you recommend I clean the surface of the table with? Thanks again! Love the finished product.

rush out to get some.
As a long time wood working hobbyist, I have to tell you there is nothing like it. The results are amazing and people always think I am some kind of wood finishing wizard. I never tell them how easy it actually was.

I'd recommend sanding in the 3rd plus finishes with 600 grit wet/dry paper.

love this stuff.

Heard it works better than multiple coats of tung oil on small wood projects. Looking forward to trying it out.

I lived in Germany and used this finishing oil for many years. It is easy to use. It is very light and doesn't lay on the surface like some of the American oils, and it produces a beautiful durable finish. When I moved back to the USA from Germany, I had planned to stock up on it and have it shipped with my household goods. I was dissappointed when I discovered that wasn't possible. Yesterday, I Googled it and was delighted to find it is available here as well.

Is liberon finishing oil tung oil based?
A shopper on Apr 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Although not stated on the can, the staff at Palomar College Cabinet and Furniture Technology assure me that it is tung oil based.
As a finish for wooden goblets, is there a residual odor that would taint the aroma of wine? Other finishes I've tested took several months to notice any reduction in odor.
Andy V on Jul 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yeah wouldn't use it for that.
I want to use this on a kitchen table made of ash that I have stained. Would this product work?
Elaine R on Mar 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I use it on ash all the time ....gives it great depth. For a table however I might start with one or two coats of this. Be sure to wipe off all excess and let dry between coats. I would then use a satin polyurethane as the top coat. It will be much more durable.
What is the shelf life for a liter? Thanks
Roger B on Jan 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have used it well beyond a year after I first opened it with no problems. I love the finish you get with Liberon Finishing Oil. Hope this helps.
I HAVE A MULTY COLOR VENIR AND INLAID CHESS TABLE. i WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF LIBERON COMES IN DIFERENT COLOR. iPLAND TO USE THE RUBING/SANDING METHOD BUT i AM AFRAID OF WOOD COLOR RUNINGS FROM DARKER INTO LIGHER WOOD.??
Katherine T on Jun 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You might want to try buying some tubes of good quality artist's oils at a craft store. You can add small amounts to liberon oil, and then sand it into the wood. I would suggest using some test panels until you get the shades and tones of color you desire. You might also consider the purchase of a "color wheel" to help you with blending colors. Good luck! Is this product food safe? Could it be used on a salad bowl?
Michael W on Nov 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I wouldn't use this for a salad bowl or cutting board. I use pure walnut oil, the wood gets the warm tone and the grain pops.
I'm using a live edge wood slab as a vanity/shelf in a bathroom. Can I put on one coat of Liberon and then apply water-based spar varnish on top of it?
Aidel.K on Jun 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No oil and water dont mix well. Try it on a scrap piece, see if it works but from what I understand it wouldn't. Ive been wood working only a year, so I dont know that much. Good luck!
How many square feet of coverage do you get with 1litre?
Rosy1 on Mar 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It depends on how many coats you put on. I typically sand the oil in so I use a lot, but 1 litre last awhile.
