Great latch. Used it on my daughters choir bell box. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo. I used 2 of them with a suitcase type handle between. It balanced the project nicely.

I made 4 of these treasure...
I made 4 of these treasure chests for my 4 grandsons for Christmas this year. It was a toss up as to whether I used 2 smaller draw bolts or the single locking one. I think the kids will appreciate the ability to lock them and spare keys are available at almost any hardware store. They made a excellent finishing touch to the red oak chests. They are well made and sturdy. I will be using them again for another project I have in mind.

Less work than a tambour lock.
A nice alternative to the tambour lock for box lids. The top piece is too tall for a 3/4” thick lid, so my workaround will be to make a cube with box or dovetail joints, and cut an appropriately tall lid on the band saw.

Item is good but at least 2 keys would be better. The same key seems to open every lock they sell

Is this available in any other finishes other than brass? I am looking for dark bronze or black.
Mark on Jul 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I've seen them in both the finishes you cite. If Rockler does not carry them in those finishes (I'd be surprised) look on the web.

Good Luck,

can this be used with a case that has a 3/4 inch lid? I have a display case with a 3/4 inch cover. Thanks
Jerry H on Sep 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't think so. The lock is on a grandchilds box which is too far away to measure.
hole spacing? I need to replace an existing non-locking drawbolt on a band instrument case and I would like to use the existing holes
Rikki on Aug 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Top holes are 1.312 (Right to Left)
Bottom holes are 1.00 (Top to Bottom)
