The ultimate in Versatility
Increases the versatilty when cutting mortise slots for loose tenons. Allows you to percisely cut mortise slots vs the centering pins which come with the basic system. As a bonus the fixed guide can be used to replace the optional straight edge sold by M Power as an accessory.

Woodworking Experience:
Great tool
This attachment has been a game changer for me. I use to have to make custom jigs for each piece of work. This attachment allows me to make perfect mortises without having to make a jig or use a router table.

Woodworking Experience:
Not quite everything
The base is not part of the package

This is an attachment to another $109 piece

You cannot buy the $6 base without buying the $109 package

Will this work on a porter cable router?
Robert M on Jan 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If you have the CRB7 Base kit it will work, but not by itself!!
Does the mortising attachment work without the router base?
Charlie T on Feb 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not sure it is worth buying without the base. Without the dedicated base you would lose the ability to precision dial in the router bit to hit the mortise area. You could just as easily add wood blocks to your own base if you want to make your own setup.
My DeWalt plunge base (compact) Is a model No. DNP612, type 1. It appears to be very similar to the one pictured. Is the DNP612 compatible with the mortising attachment?
KEN C on Jul 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have the DWP 611 router with the DNP 612 plunge base and it is compatible with the mortising attachment. There is a minor modification to complete the attachment but it works very well for routing mortises. Be aware that you also need the CRB7 router base.
Is it a universal jig that can accommodate a multitude of other router brands such as Makita?
artie on Nov 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I believe in my opinion that you can adjust this jig to fit your Makita, Porter Cable, DeWalt or Bosch router.
I have used mine with my Bosch and Porter Cable routers. Makita's are common, reliable and dependable routers, I'm certain M-Power had Makita in mind when they designed it. I am happy with the performance of mine. I bought all the accessories for my jig. Send me your questions.
Will this fit a Bosch ev1617 plunge system?
Carl H on Jun 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes it does. I use my Bosch Router with this base. Without issue.
Will it work with dewalt 618pkb?
gary s on Apr 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: As long as the router base has the two holes shown in their picture for the attachment’s shafts to go through it should work. I have a dewalt router and it works fine. I can send you the router’s model on saturday.
What other tool would I need to do new door hinge?
Joyce F on Mar 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You need a mortising bit that can be purchased at Rockler and hinge drill bit for the hinge itself. If you have this jig and a compact router you should be good to go. Maybe a sharp chisel to clean up your mortise.
Does this jig work to cut only mortise, or does it help to cut tenon as well?
Kenny M on Jan 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have used this jig with my Porter Cable router to cut numerous mortises. I have never cut a tenon with it, I cut tenons on the table saw using a Freud glue up/rip blade and a tenoning jig.
What is the maximum final plunge depth ?
Patches on Sep 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: That depends on your router. The jig itself is only about an 1/8 of an inch thick. I have used it and I am happy with it. It performs as advertised.
Do you receive everything shown in the picture, nothing else to buy?
Gary on Mar 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, this is only the accessory attachment. It does not include the CRB7 router base or the router.
does it work with the Triton plunge router?
Frank N on Feb 20, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have no idea. I use mine with a Bosch router. I am not familiar with the Triton router's base fix or plunged so I cannot answer this question for you. My apologies.
Will this work with a Freud model FT2000E Variable Speed Plunge Router?
Dan V on Nov 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I do not know. I have Porter Cable routers. It depends on the base of the router.
