For woodworkers, the basic paper dust masks with rubber band straps have an annoying drawback: every time you exhale, hot, moist air is forced out of the gaps around the bridge of your nose, and your safety glasses quickly become fogged. RZ M2 Mesh Masks circumvent that problem with dual exhalation valves that direct air down and outward, away from your safety glasses. This package includes the standard F1 filters with active carbon, as well as a 3-pack of HEPA filters, both of which screen out particles down to 0.1 micron. The mesh material is lightweight, comfortable against the skin, and allows cooling air to circulate in areas that don't require filtration, such as the back of your neck. As we all know, a mask only benefits you if you wear it, and with no rubber bands to tangle in your hair or chafe against your neck, you won't hesitate to wear this one.

Features:

  • Mesh material is lightweight, breathable and durable
  • Replaceable filters and washable mesh maximize the life of the mask
  • Dual one-way discharge valves reduce condensation on safety goggles
  • Adjustable nose clip also helps to prevent fogging
  • Adjustable velcro strap provides a comfortable fit—not too tight and not too loose

Package includes a 3-Pack of HEPA Filters, offering 40% better breathability than the standard F1 filter!

With their dual layers of particulate filtration, F2 HEPA filters are capable of trapping particles down to 0.1 microns in size. F2 filters do not feature active carbon, but they offer 40% better breathability than the standard F1 filters.

What Size Mask Should I Buy?

Choosing the correct mask size
To determine the correct mask size for your facial structure, we recommend taking exact measurements using the method described below.
1. Measure from the bridge of your nose to just under your chin. *See guide below. (It may be helpful to have a friend assist you) 2. Use the measurements you have taken and match to the best fit from the below: NOTE: If you are on the bubble based on measurements - refer to weight.

  • Extra Large (XL) - 4.5" - 5.5" | 215lbs +
  • Large (L) - 4" - 4.5" | 125lbs - 215lbs
  • Medium (M) - 3.5" - 4" | Up to 125lbs

Filters are designed to match your chosen mask size, i.e. Extra Large (XL) mask houses an XL filter.
Below is a general guide based on body weight (note that facial measurements are more accurate for ensuring correct fit).
  • Extra Large - 215 lbs +
  • Large - 125 lbs - 215 lbs
  • Medium - Up to 125 lbs

(1) M2 Mesh Face Mask
(2) F1 Filters with Active Carbon
(1) Storage bag

Love it
Have been using the mask now for a little over a week and it has been great.
It really fits well and is very comfortable.
What I really like about it though is that on the filter at the bridge of your nose there is a little strip of foam so when you put the mask on and pinch it it makes a good seal.
That is important to me as someone who wears glasses as no air passes through and my glasses don't get fogged up.

I saw a DIYer using one on YouTube and decided to get one. I'm right at the size break between the Large and XL. I wish I'd gone with the bigger size. Other than that, it's been great while doing woodwork in my garage shop.
No problems with a short beard and glasses.

FIts the face well and blocked the dust particles well. My glasses didn't fog as advertised. There was an odor when first put on and the noseclip took a little getting use. All in agood product.

Poor quality
Sadly this masks nose clip fell off right out of the box and left a hole in the mesh that will no longer hold the clip. I would not recommend this product.

WANTED TO TRY IT OUT FOR SANDING ALREADY PAINTED FURNITURE. IT LOOKS COMFORTABLE ENOUGH TO WEAR, AND HOPEFULLY WILL PROTECT MY BREATHING. TIME WILL TELL.

What is the actual filtration rating? P95, P100, etc? What's the filtration rating on the additional HEPA?

How well does the mask work with the bearded population? Reason for my wanting the mask is for jet travel. Medical needs are a necessity for me to ware a mask in high population scenarios.

BEST ANSWER: I have a short beard. #2 on a standard US trimmer and I have had no problems while doing woodwork. I would suggest you get a size larger if you're at a "size break" I'm at the 215 break and went with the smaller. I wish I'd gone with the bigger size. Good luck!
How often do the filters need to be changed, and how do you know when it's time to change them?

BEST ANSWER: I’ve had mine for 6 months not changed them yet. It depends on usage if it is worn every day then the frequency would go up. I’ve not noticed an increase in flow restriction so far.
The two included filters are the cheap carbon, black circles in the pictures, correct?
Or, are the included filters the hepa filters - a necessary inclusion to validate their .01 micron filtration claim?
Kinda need both, seems to me?
Smokey on Mar 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The filters are inserts that cover the majority of the inside of the mask. The black circles are the vents for exhaling.
Is it washable?
David S on May 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: An excellent question. I would think the outside mask part would be washable but first remove the replaceable filter media. I would not wash the filter media.

I'm very pleased with the filter, very easy to use. But sizes run small. I was surprised that I needed an Extra Large and I'm not big. Hope this helps.
