Micro Jig Splitter™ SteelPRO System, 1/8'' Kerf

Micro Jig Splitter™ SteelPro is constructed from a 100% polycarbonate shell and reinforced with a solid stainless steel core. Toughest Micro Jig splitter ever, utilizes the same patented technology of the original Micro Jig Splitters. Furthermore, the SteelPRO employs another groundbreaking innovation for table saw safety and efficacy: The Dual Splitter. This allows the splitters to control the pressure on the keeper piece AND the off-cut piece by the thousands on an inch. This will virtually eliminate any chance of kickback on the table saw and greatly reduce the chance of severing fingers. The splitters are simple to install and simple to use. We include an easy to follow drill-guide template to install the SteelPro System into your Zero Clearance Insert (ZCI). Keep using the MJ Splitter™ SteelPro with Plug N' Play ease. excellent safety feature, easy to use and has eliminated burn
Using Delta 10" table saw with Zero clearance insert. Highly recommend, has virtually eliminated wood burn, helps make my cuts true and helps minimize kickback.

Worthwhile and easy to install safety feature
I am using on an older Delta contractor saw - no riving knife and a sometimes troublesome blade guard/splitter/pawls. Zero clearance combined with the dual splitters makes a very noticeable difference. Definitely works and worth the price to avoid kickback. I found the directions and the set up jig easy to follow/use. Combined with using grippers, have made a big step up in safety on a tool lacking many of the latest safety features.

Good Alternative
I have an older table saw and cannot retro-fit a riving knife, the Micro Jig Splitter is and excellent alternative. Very easy to install and works well.

Cut off more then 1/16" wider then the blade thickness.
I was trimming some cherry wood recently and ran across a problem almost ever time when trimming 1/16" or less. What would happen is the wood would double back before the splitter and jam in-between the wood being cut and the splitter. I would have to shut down the table saw and pull the cut off piece out and put it on the other side of the splitter, restart the saw and continue cutting.
Cutting more then 1/16" wider then the blade thickness there was no problems.
Yes I would recommend using the splitter.

Careful drilling holes
Product is good, but it’s quite easy to drill the holes too wide, even using the recommended bit size. Start with a smaller bit and see how it works. When too large, the splitters don’t seat tightly enough.

be certain to get the right unit. I have a thin kerf blade. The thin kerf I purchased was too wide? Mine is .090 wide. I had to order the correct one on line. The local store didn’t stock it. Should have it in a couple of days and will update the rating.

It would be an upgrade from my shop made model. I've heard good things about it.

I have one of these now that is just plastic and it is beginning to wear out. It has been great in preventing kickback (before getting one of these I had the distinct "pleasure" of receiving a strip of wood to my stomach. The bruise took weeks to disappear).

I have a 40 year old Craftsman table saw without a riving knife, at least one that I have confidence in.

My table saw is from the 1950's (Powermatic beast) and has no separator or riving knife. Had a few kick backs so hopefully this will make life a bit safer.

I had another type of splitter and needed a new one.

SO it would help to keep the wood split apart while I am sawing. I've had wood pinched together and hopefully this will help

My old Delta saw doesn't have a splitter or riving knife and this seemed an east way to add a bit of safety.

will this work with 12 inch table saw ?
Jerry H on Feb 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have a Delta 10 inch saw however I see no reason it would not be beneficial on a 12 inch saw. The instructions are very clear and once put into play is very useful in keeping the kerf open minimizing the possibility of a kick back. At the same time it is very useful in keeping a long rip cut on plywood tight against the fence as you proceed. The diameter of the blade is insignificant it is setting itself up to match the kerf width of your blade not its' diameter.
